There is some chatter going on in a Section 203 chat that the game is supposed to be moved to an evening slot on Saturday, can anybody confirm/correct this?

Feels like all of the game times could get moved around closer to Friday. Chance of storms all weekend. I wouldn't count on any of the times this far out.

I figured it was being picked up for a national broadcast but just had not been updated publicly yet.

I'd assume weather also. But the whole weekend looks like garbage, so they might just try to play anywhere they have a window. Would not surprise me if we have some rain delays throughout the series.

I missworded my message to the group. What I meant to say is there is a chance for a 6 pm on Saturday. Due to the rain (and A&M obviously wants a night game prime time slot), to be ready in case that news ends up happening.

You've got that backwards. A&M prefers to play Saturday afternoon. If TV doesn't move it, we usually play at 2:00 on Saturdays. Coaches like the afternoon game because it gives players a chance to have dinner with their family Saturday night. We've been doing it that way for 20 years now.

It just so happens that this game was picked by ESPN for linear broadcast on ESPN2 before the season, but it will still be in the usual 2:00 p.m. timeslot. The Friday game, will, however, be at 7:00 p.m. rather than the usual 6:00 p.m., which makes me glad because I would choose to play at 7:00 on Friday and Saturday like we used to do back in the day as that makes it easier for folks to get off work on Friday, and do youth activities and such on Saturday.

yeah was gonna say we have not done the saturday evening games since the MJ days.

I may be in the minority but I prefer Saturday and Sunday afternoon games.

I do as well -- nice to have an early evening with church the next morning. And I'm sure the players and coaches appreciate the extra rest time before the Sunday afternoon game.

I like afternoon games until it hits 100*, then I prefer the evening games for some relief from the heat
