It is a newer metric the selection committee is also using for the Field of 64.

The DSR indicates the liklihood of a team beating an average team.

I think it bodes well for our Aggies as it appears to put more value on wins
over really good teams vs. losses to bad teams. Hope this score is huge in their selections!

RPI is awful though somewhat better in a 40 game season with lots of inter-conference play as opposed to, say, 12-game football…

My guess is each committee decides what metrics are the most important.
Likely politics comes into selections. Like limiting SEC teams in the field.
In the DSR, I notice UK and OU are behind our Aggies. We hear those 2 teams
are in the Field of 64. There may be some surprises that counters some past indicators.
