Thank you to both of you. After the game, my son wanted to stay around and get autographs. Thank yall for actually taking the time to talk to my boy. It was his first Aggie game ever, and he is hooked now. Begging me to go back tomorrow.

Fully agree. No doubt that was tough for them. Adversity reveals character.deadlift said:
Even more impressive to show character after tonight's setback.

That's a good bull story

I wish more people could put wins/loss aside sometimes. Yes last night sucked. Support the kids, support the coaches. If they weren't disappointed in the result, then I would say we have a huge problem

I don't disagree that we should expect better results. But I doubt you have been through what they have been through at the age of 18-22. The emotional roller coaster the past year, nothing was off the table. And they are still kids, just kids with lots of money.

Look I'm not going to argue with you about life experience. I mean from an athletes perspective. If you don't think these kids want what you want. You are not paying attention. You can tell they are crushed.
Hopefully, your son gave both of them some words of wisdom.1991sir said:

Jace has fully embraced what it means to be an Aggie. Good luck to him at the next level.

Glad to hear of the autograph story, but these players aren't "kids". They are well compensated professional athletes with unlimited free agency. The idea that they are "kids" went out the window when they started getting 5, 6, and even 7-figure salaries to play a college sport.

Yes, the guy (along with literally the entire rest of the team) who immediately put his name in the portal at the first sign of adversity, then held us hostage not to leave by demanding more NIL along with our capitulation to his coaching demands, or he'd walk, has truly embraced what it means to be an Aggie.
Do you know why he can walk around tonight without a care in the world after a season ending loss like tonight? Because he still gets paid, no matter what! Not because of like the "Aggie Spirit" or whatever else you guys have convinced yourselves inhabit our student athletes.

I do not disagree with you. But the bottom line is that they're paid handsomely to WIN. End of story.

This will go over like a lead balloon, but someone who was at the game told me that the Mizzou players were so happy, and that they had almost no fans there to celebrate with them. They watched the fireworks too, apparently. Our team did not. (That's not a criticism.)
I hate that A&M lost but I can also be a little happy for Mizzou. Imagine if the team roles were reversed.
The point for me is that real people play and follow sports. There's nothing wrong with empathy or pointing out positives like op did with this post.
