Not that I haven't seen these clips 1000's of times but seeing again this morning a little on X some clips of his Oregon grand slam, his walk off vs. SC, etc.

The kid is extremely good with the level of professionalism in his bat flips/celebrations. Enough to show "yeah I just did that" but gets on his way down the line quickly after. Not surprising since I heard his dad was a pro.

But with some of the extravagant crap we've seen in baseball for far less meaniful HR's it's nice to see a kid know how to still show off a little but still do it respectfully and professionally.

The other Caden does this well too...

That is all...

Now lets BTHO out of Mizz for the next 3 days. Carry on.

Its funny because one day another poster made a comment about a healthy ego check after he made a mistake. And I was thinking "what ego????". Yes, I can see where people assume he would and could have a huge ego, but I've always have been pleasantly surprised that he doesn't. Such a big character plus that will help to elevate his success in all facets of life. He has my respect

I think the kid has zero ego I've ever seen.

Even the simple fact that he plays into and laughs about the jokes about being Jeff Kents son. An ego would make you annoyed at that.

The ice cold stare and bat drop after the walk off Grand slam says everything.

Did you listen to KK's interview here? LINK It's one of my favorites of the year, but yeah he definitely has some degree of edge or ego that is pretty much necessary to compete at this level.

Of course. But is it really bragging if you're that good?

I seriously think most of the ego comments I've seen come from like, one error in the sip series where TK called him off a fly ball and he didn't give it up and dropped the catch

There's a huge difference between a-hole like ego and being confident knowing your good ego....which is necessary to succeed at a high level.

I'm not 100% positive but I think this is his father.

Is there? Or are you just trying to control someone who earned the attention?

My Ego on any level is my enemy. I (the ego) am crucified with Christ, it is no longer I (the ego) who lives, but it is Christ living in and thru me. Galatians 2:20

You should listen to the Royo interview where he talks about how he and Kaeden work the infield together. They are total opposites - like fire and ice. Royo chills Kent out when he gets wound up and Kent lights a fire under Royo when necessary.

What I was getting at is being very confident in your ability is often taken as having an ego and people try to blur the line...but they're two very different things. You have to have a belief that you are one of the best hitters in the country to consistently be successful vs. SEC pitching. That's not having a big ego.

Ego happens when you have a bunch of type A personalities around. I can't control how someone was raised but I can do my best to impart humility into their attitude moving forward. In sports you sometimes need that person that does have more of an ego to give your team a boost or get into the heads of the other team.

As a coach/sales manager/military leader I would very much prefer to have to pull someone back than have to push them forward. I can teach humility a lot easier than I can to change someone's attitude to be more aggressive.

I've seen someone hit a homerun while popping bubble gum at the same time, and thought that was much more impressive than any bat flip I've ever seen. I feel like Kent's version of that might be spitting a sunflower seed at the same time he's depositing one into section 12.

I've been watching Kaeden since little league and he's always been an old soul lock down solid player. Coaching against Jeff was never very fun and I never had a lot of success, but I never disliked him, was always kind of in awe.
