all right, the 0-24 Tigers are in town...

and since both schools joined the SEC...A&M has enjoyed considerable success against Mizzou

the Tigers have only won 1 of the 6 series played between the teams -- in 2021 in Columbia

A&M has swept Mizzou twice: in 2017 in Columbia and in 2013 at Blue Bell

looking for a sweep this weekend

Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, and OU

all 4 looking to host -- need to keep pushing toward 16 conference wins

it's take-care-of-business weekends for UCLA, Irvine, Oregon, Oregon State, and Arizona

the Beavers are traveling to Des Moines, Iowa for a non-conference May series vs. Iowa

Iowa's final 3 series this year:

at Washington (lost 2 of 3)
vs. Oregon State
vs. Oregon

we'll see if the Hawkeyes can hold onto 1st place -- might have to in order to make regional play

Despite coming off a Tuesday loss Gatah comes in having played some decent ball of late. Unfortunately, where are they playing? Where else……..
Tall task to ask for a series win. Much less a sweep

A sweep by the Ags this weekend is an absolute must

I know this is blasphemy but isn't it in our best interest for the Schlonghorns to win the series vs FL. We move up in the SEC standings and also helps our RPI?

100% of SEC conference games for all sports are on SEC+ and have been since 2014.

Texas has to play 5 series at home. If the OU and Florida series' venues were flipped it would add to the ire as far as favorable road matchups.

The RPI benefit of the sips winning instead of the gators would be minimal since we have so many common opponents with Florida. It's not worth worrying about. Might be some benefit to Florida picking up a loss or two in letting us pass them in the standings.

I'm glad I'm not the only that was thinking along these lines. While pulling for chomp chomp, it will not break my heart if cow wins this series. On the other hand, it will definitely be Roll Tide when the Gators face Bama at home next weekend.

My initial inclination is along the lines of Mr. Twk's thinking but I'm going to withhold my formal decision until the RPI Impact Games updates at midnight.

Using tonight's Auburn vs South Carolina game as a proxy, I am thinking twk is going to be spot on. That's about as close to neutral as you can get. The common opponents are going to be different but I am guessing it'll be similar for the sips.

SC Wins: +3.0 RPI Points
SC Loses: -3.4 RPI Points

During the SC/Auburn game they mentioned the last SEC team to go winless in league play. The 1962 Dores went 0-16-2.

Edit to add: This is from The Columbian Daily Tribune
Quote:

Ole Miss (1934-36): The Rebels, in the early years of the Southeastern Conference's existence, went on either a 21- or 22-game conference losing streak, depending on whose records you use. The SEC says Mississippi went 0-9 in 1934. Ole Miss' records list 10 straight losses against SEC teams, and also list the qualifier "all results not available" as a footnote to the season. Either way, it's not the longest losing streak in SEC history.

Vandy (1961-63): Vanderbilt lost five straight games to end the 1961 season, went 0-16-2 in 1962, and lost seven straight to open the 1963 season. The longest losing streak in that run was 19 games. But, overall, the Commodores had a 30-game winless streak the longest in SEC history.

Kentucky (1955-57): Went 0-12 against the SEC in 1955, then lost 12 straight in a 1-12 campaign in 1956. That's a 24-game losing streak, which is the longest losing streak no ties that the Tribune could find in SEC history.

I get it. But RPI implications be damned. I cannot root for those steaming sh**piles, ever. If we take care of our own business these next two weekends we should be fine. If we can't, we didn't deserve it.

Yeah, up to RPI 3 and right in the mix for a top 8 seed. If they win both remaining series I think they'll get it. They finish at Ole Miss next weekend.

I wasn't even thinking about RPi, I would just like the Aggies to be above as many teams in the standings as possible.

Just brutal. Wonder if USC will give Paul Mainieri time to turn the ship around or will he be fired after year 1. He did inherit a crap show taking over that program.

KR has the Ags right above Florida as of this week. He mentioned we were 26 and 27 in their final vote this week on the D1 podcast. UF is ofc at tu this weekend and then home versus Bama to close it out.

I bet he gets another year. Program was in bad shape and his AD obviously knows what it takes to compete. I can't imagine they could replace him with anyone more of "sure" thing, which is always the risk.

Just look at the years Sully, Tadlock and many other "can't miss" coaches are having.

Kansas (37-14) in a freefall -- down to RPI #41

A&M and UF would get in before the Big 12's 5th place team

Jayhawks just 1-6 vs. Quad 1

as of this moment...TCU does not have a top 40 series win

What would it take for tu to fall out of hosting a Super Regional? Is it already a done deal, even if they go 0-7 to finish?

Oh, I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt...

So I guess it's a done deal.
