yet we are 10-9… that's crazy to think about.. speaks to how awful our hitting and defense are

Jason Kelley thought he had a cake walk job taking a pitching job with a returning line up as daunting as ours looked to be.

Now all he's done is lowered our team era compared to Weiner and catch heat while trying to walk a tight rope with razor thin margin for error due to lack of run support

Our pitching is elite and if we can just adjust our mentality at the plate we will win a lot of games. We need to steal bunt hit and run. If we'd done anything on offense we'd won 2/3 this weekend.

Yes but it's time to swallow your pride a be a team player now. I would think they prefer winning instead of losing what it takes but this comes from the coach.

Gym… go do some simple math on our big 3 pitchers who have thrown almost 60% of our innings at an era around 2.0 for them. the rest of team has been ok, but nothing close to 2.94 without the big 3

this is another example of where having a rookie head coach hurts

an experienced head coach realizes that one solution is take one of the starters and put them in long relief

i.e. create tandem starts

in order to give your team a chance to win the series

I don't see anyone else who has three quality starters doing that.

You could have saved all three starters for Sunday. It wouldn't matter if you don't score.

the great starting pitching / bad bullpen formula is going to be a struggle to make work

even if the offense starts scoring runs

Run buffers change decisions in pitching. Some of the decisions made recently were to protect a very narrow lead or hold a tie.

The bullpen is not bad by college standards. None of these guys are Aschenbeck, and there have been some decisions that could be second guessed, but the biggest problem with the bullpen is that they haven't been given many runs to work with.

Moss looked good. So did Wilson, just field the ball.

We are throwing the same amount of strikes this year, but quite a bit less first pitch strikes. More often than not, we are falling behind in counts. We are also issuing slightly more free bases.

and all three could have pitched a combined no hitter. But with walks, errors, HBP, and lack of any offense, we still would have lost.
