I haven't seen this posted yet (relevant because SEC). Cade Belyeu's mom passed away Friday a few hours before he took the field.

This about broke my heart. Apparently the young kid who caught his HR ball returned it to the athletic department so Cade could have it.

This is why baseball is the best sport. The baseball gods smiled that night and gave Cade a moment of happiness.

Can't imagine losing a parent while in college or earlier.

I pray that God comfort the Belyeu family

My son is a sophomore at Auburn (same age as Cade). When we were moving him in, my wife and I were obviously anxious about our son moving 740 miles away. We pulled into a mattress store to buy a mattress cover. The store was owned by the Belyeu family and Cade's mom was working it that day. She was extremely nice to my wife and made her feel at ease about our son moving that far away. She gave my wife her cell number and told her to call anytime that our son needed anything. It was an answered prayer for us.

It broke our heart when our son called us and told us about this on Friday. My son was at the game and said the Auburn community rallied to Cade. May the Lord bring Cade and his family peace that transcends all understanding.
