Happy these are out there and it's hopefully happening soon. But it doesn't really match the style of BBP. It matches more of the new football stuff.

If they're looking to have a unified look to facilities that would explain it.
God loves you so much He'll meet you where you are. He also loves you too much to allow to stay where you are.

Isn't this the same step we keep repeating. 60 M approved in 22. 80 M in 24. Now 28 M in 25.

The approved budget didn't get fully funded. So they are taking the bites that in theory secure better player interest and development.

I think there is nothing wrong with that. It also allows demand to build if we have the kind of year we could have!!!

There is zero reason to have empty seats ever. Someone has to pay to install seats that are occasionally full. Just wait until you can sell them.

Write the check and they'll be happy to build the whole dang thing.

Seems that they should at least consider the stadium improvements for 3B/ LF line. Might as well only tear the area up once

28M for a carve out of the full project. Also, carving out the player development center bumped it up to fiscal year '25 rather than fiscal year '26. Fy 26 doesn't start until Sept '25, so a FY '26 start date was never going to be at the end of this season.

While I wouldn't bet on phase 2 starting in 26, it is possible we could be talking about a BOR meeting this time next year approving seating construction to start summer 26. Just need people to write the checks.

The money isn't there for the stadium expansion. It's no where close and likely won't happen in 2026 either. Only the Player Development portion could get funded right now

Win it all this year (or make another deep run) and there will be checks with fresh ink on them the morning after they get home.

From what I heard they're reallocating a lot of the stadium money to NIL deals. Could just be a wild rumor.

Wouldn't that be nice?

My point was that this appears to be the same thing we had already done so I wonder if there has been real progress.

Since it was originally approved as part of a different project, it has to be presented and approved as a stand alone project with a different budget and timeline

I'm glad to see its Populous doing the work. Out of the typical sports firms that the university rotates through for projects, Populous probably has the best baseball experience.

The school can't do that, but donors can. University/TMF money can't be used for NIL.

What would become of the current locker room and player areas? More club space?

I could even see them staying for use by other teams in regionals. Not a great use of space, however.

Site location extends into the parking lot. Concept images also look like they extend into the parking lot. Someone change their mind on not taking out any parking?

I don't see how you expand the stadium without taking out parking. Though if we're looking forward, we probably shouldn't put the facility there. If we're going to set the field back to expand for outfield seating, the facility needs to be set further back than that.

The AD has restricted expansion to vertical growth, according to ongoing discussion of the topic.

Having seen no renderings of an expansion after many months, perhaps the BMAs are not completely supportive of the plan, or designing a successful renovation in a confined space is very difficult.

Regents Approve Baseball Player Complex at Texas A&M
November 13, 2025

The Regents approved construction of a major Player Development Center at Blue Bell Park for the Texas A&M baseball program. The Player Development Center at Blue Bell Park, budgeted at $28.3 million, will feature expanded batting and pitching labs, sports medicine facilities, a home clubhouse, strength and conditioning spaces, and team meeting rooms. The project will be funded through a blend of philanthropic gifts and revenue-backed financing supported by future gifts.

I need to bump the thread where people were mad we didn't start construction during football season and I said you couldn't do that because we might be in the playoff run and mess up football parking. And I was mocked for staying that

For the record, I wasn't mad about being in the playoffs. I was mad about baseball not being a priority and I'm still mad about it. Let the people park somewhere else.

If we're going to lose parking, can't they seriously look at the old softball space for a parking garage? Maybe not big enough if we copy existing campus designs, but more parking for events is definitely needed.

I don't think that site is nearly big enough for a parking garage - bang for the buck. You could do it but with all of the ramps, etc needed for a build you'd need to go 10 stories to make it worthwhile. A Reed arena parking lot turned into a parking garage would make more sense. BTW - I hate parking garages. I'd rather walk a longer distance than get caught in that trap after a game.

there is plenty of parking around Reed for Olsen, you just have to walk. Which really isn't that much different than parking for football and walking to Kyle.

Why not just keep the same style at the stadium? Looks like a fusion of the rec and Olsen. I guess its an improvement from the original concept in the first picture.

The Rec center shouldn't be where it is. But baseball doesn't have sufficient fan support (think donations) to demand a relocation. Anyone have a billion to donate?

Nah, we can make it work in this footprint. Just gotta stay creative.
