One thing is certain. Right now there are a half dozen baseball coaches at highly successful D1 programs that have secret communications with burner phones (or with secret agents) with our AD about our open coaching position. They are sneaking around and keeping a low profile to wisely avoid upsetting any fans about their interest in the A&M position. Perhaps their agents are even secretly meeting in grave yards or
abandoned buildings. This is called acting with discretion.
But this search process isn't being done in the middle of a national championship season. And announcement of the deal won't be delayed while a tainted coach is hosting recruits who might picking between the two teams. And the coach won't be actively making game altering decisions which might affect the momentum of the two programs. A secret handshake deal with a HUGE payout in the future (Schloss' new contract) creates an unmanageable conflict of interest. This is called being underhanded.
