And I can't tell if it's weapons grade copium or just arrogance.
The sentiment over there is largely "let's get our bats going G2, and G3 is lock." "The longer the series goes on, our baseball wins out." (That last one is funny, because if the series is shorter their chances decrease to zero.)
What strikes me is two things
1) they had 12 hits last night. You can't say their batting wasn't awake. They got 2 homeruns. If you get 12 hits and lose, the issue isn't the bats.
2) they have zero regard for leaning on their pitchers. They gave up 9 runs on 13 hits, 2 homers, and 3 walks. If you can't correct your play on the mound you aren't in a great position to limit the Ags on the scoreboard.
If you were to tell me Friday that game one would be a shootout (10+ hits each) most people wouldn't think the Ags would have been the winner. "The bats favor the Vols" but the pitching kept their hits spread out and unable to stack the runs.
Other than two batters getting a gassed JStew and bad placement from Rudis, this game was a buzzsaw.
