One of my favorite players off the great 1993 Aggie Baseball team was Billy Harlan. He played the game the right way and did a lot of things at a high level.

I was hoping someone may be able to find a video clip of him simply taking a walk...a base on balls. He used to drop the bat right in the box and hustle to first base....loved that...every time.

If anyone can please post a clip of him taking a BB I would really appreciate.

Almost certain there's a copy of the 1993 CWS game of ours against Kansas on youtube. Don't even know if Billy played, but that would be a good place to look.

Stolen base at 9:35 mark and at bat at 9:50.

Coach Johnson taught the players or had the players run 75 percent effort on walks and to back in from your positions.

Same and same.

Who was the player that took a pitch to the face against Dallas Baptist (I think). Robert Thompson? Still can hear that sound in my head. It was absolutely sickening.

I thought that was Robert Harris.

I watched every home game in the '93 season except Easter weekend series vs Tech…because Mom made me come home for Easter.

They played hard, had 3 great lefty pitchers… great hustle and some great hitters.

Harlan was perhaps the only senior who came back in '94. Always respected him for playing out the string on that depleted team. Harris was a junior, but didn't have anywhere near the season in '94 that he did in '93. I think Harris came back in '95 and then had a short minor league career. He was a great player in '93, hitting the HR against t.u. that clinched the conference title, and one of the best players I've ever seen with runners on 3rd and less than 2 outs.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

I think you're right. 30+ years has fuzzies the memory a little bit.

Robert Harris was only a soph in 1993.
He was back In 1994 and 1995.

Harris, Trey Moore, Lee Fedora, John Curl, Stephen Claybrook, Chris Clemons, were all key members of the 1993 CWS team back in 1994 but that team just couldn't get it together and failed to make a regional.

Robert Harris and John Curl were back in 1995 along with several young guys from the 1994 team that had a poor start but caught fire midway thru the season and came within a game of Omaha falling to Miami In Coral Gables in the regional finals .

I knew Billy at A&M... Not really well, but he was a friend. Solid dude. Authentic. Genuinely friendly person.

Glad to see his name mentioned on this board all these years later.

Granger, Moore, and Wunsch were all drafted and all signed after the '93 season.

EDIT - You are apparently correct. I'd really thought we lost all three of those guys after '93.
