So is Cortez done with Tuesday starts? Having him pitch the 9th seems like a move to get his schedule adjusted to weekend relief pitching. I could be misreading that though. If he is done who do yall think gets the nod? Antolick? Wilson?

He pitched one inning. 15-20 pitches.

Schloss is coaching/managing his team for the long term. Sit back n enjoy. Gonna be a fun ride!

Interesting discussion as a fan. Is he going to end up as a Tuesday starter or weekend reliever.

It appears (to me) both CC and Sdao are auditioning for the closer role, with the "loser" earning the set up role, to augment Ashman. And we still have Wansing on deck! Problems, problems...

I think Schloss just wanted to get CC some innings of work in, to prepare him for a bigger role during SEC play. I'd expect one (or more) of our younger pitchers to inherit the Tuesday role

I like Cortez as the Tuesday guy (unless one of the weekend guys falls off) and then your #4 starter in a regional or potential CWS run.

I think Schloss wants to give Morton several midweek starts and see if he can turn into reliable starter towards the end of the season. Just set a hunch based on how he talked about him in interviews.

As the Tuesday starter today was probably his bullpen day so they gave him some live pitches at 100% instead of a bullpen session at 80%.
The federal government was never meant to be this powerful.

This is my take. Take advantage of CC for SEC play and use Tuesdays for young pitchers now that we've established ourselves and the midweek game is virtually meaningless.

I wouldn't expect Chris to be starter #4 in post season as it stands currently. I think Sdao is clearly in front of him and Wansing probably is too when he is healthy. Seems to me his best use would be as a solid reliever on weekends more like his freshman year. You start him on these early Tuesdays to get a good look at what he's got given how strong his arm is not because you expect to keep him as the Tuesday guy. At least that's my opinion on it. His outing today just seemed like it was to get him ready to come out of the pen again next weekend. Totally possible I'm reading too deep into it, but I just don't think Schloss does anything without specific reasons.

Chris only went three inning Tuesday I think. So he could pitch this inning and still be available Tuesday

I tend to agree that Schloss is going to want Cortez available for some role on the weekends, probably in the bullpen. If he'd shown great command, he might have been an option for one of the three starting roles, but he doesn't appear to be quite there. Good enough command to be used out of the bullpen (where you can make a quick change if he doesn't have enough), but not good enough to start the game and be sure he will get you into the middle innings.

Maybe he is the "opener" on Tuesday, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's not. We know what we've got with Cortez, and there are several other guys that we need to see against live competition.

I think every Aggie coach and fan wants to find a consistent role for CC. I think this was a spot where you ask, "can he come in and pump strikes?" He started each hitter 2-0, can't imagine Max likes that, but fought back to get all 3. I don't think you can bring him in to a based loaded jam. But maybe he can start a clean inning late? As a spot starter it's hard because of he doesn't throw strikes you have to fill 7-8 innings and that's taking taxing on a bullpen. On the other hand when he's good just facing 3 batters is a waste.

It has to be a frustrating situation for the coaches and the player because the talent is so tantalizing.

Personally I see him in a late inning setup role coming in to start a clean inning. No traffic on the bases. If he's missing you can pull him. If he's not you can let him cook.
