I've never been and it's a trip I've wanted to make with my son, whether A&M is in it or not. We have this year and then only three more summers to do this before he'll have conflicts with summer ball of his own. So we have a room booked downtown for the 15th, checking out on the 18th. 'Would like to catch games 1 thru 4 (played on Friday, the 16th and Saturday, the 17th) so that we get to see all eight teams play once. 'Question I have is what's the best way to buy tickets? I figured someone here has done this a few times already and knows how to do it right. Thanks in advance.

Buy general admission and wait inline is the cheap way to go.

It's also a lot of fun in the outfield.

I've also bought seats behind home plate off of stub hub while I was in town for the World Series.

I've been 3 times. My advice is don't buy tickets in advance…. Wait til as close to game time as possible. I always get on the ncaa cws website, go to their ticket exchange, and you can typically find good seats at decent prices. The closer to game time the cheaper they are. I've never had issues finding seats. Even the tu game last year on Father's Day I was able to buy good seats just a couple of hours before first pitch

If you are wanting to go to every game in those days, do not do general admission. By the time the 1st game is over, the line for the second game is absurdly long

I second this advice.

I bought tickets for cheap behind home plate a couple hrs before the game started.

Local people have season tickets and will post them on stub hub. You can grab them for a good price before the game starts.

General admission is very cheap, was 20 or 25 when I went. Only issue is it's first come first serve, so you will need to leave a game you're watching to wait in line for the next game.

Definitely wait until day of to buy tickets for each game you want to attend. Also, it is HOT and the sun can be pretty rough on the first base side during day games and third base side during the early part of the later games. I'd suggest looking for tickets in the higher up rows of the first deck so that you can have protection from the overhang of the second deck. Stay hydrated and wear sun block because the lines to get in can be long and slow.

Last year, they sold out of a lot of the hats and shirts really early on, so if there is a hat or shirt you want, I'd buy early. There are a lot of vendors selling merchandise at the tents outside the park, but some of the quality is a little poor.

I didn't go last year but I seem to recall they have done away with GA seating, which is extremely unfortunate. These were freaking awesome and about the best value in sport. The previous times I've been we bought a few GA books and then just cherry-picked a handful of games that we wanted to pay for reserved seats. We knew we had a GA seat as a fallback if prices were more than we were willing to spend. It's a much different animal now and significantly more costly as well...

Yea, outfield and lower rows during day games can be brutal!!!

For reference, we were first base side row 23 for the tu game. We were the first row in the shade at game time

Row 21 3rd base side for OU game and baked all game

Agree with above postings - wait until close to game time to buy and find seats in the shade for afternoon games.

If you have a choice, seats on third base side are better than first- one good scoreboard in right field, so view is best from 3rd base side.

Also suggest not buying tickets in advance. I went last year and bought our tickets in advance. No game (except the Friday night game) was even close to full. Ticket prices dropped significantly the day of games. I would wait until day off and then buy best available/value online a few hours before first pitch.

The one exception may be the Friday night game, depending on matchup. Last year that game was tu/nd which was a big ticket draw.

The third base side is more in the sun though. I actually prefer first base side to avoid the sun

Look for tickets a little higher up in 1st deck and on the 3rd base side or the sun beats you to death!

If you have small kids don't sit in the outfield. 2 years ago we went to 2 games and both times I had to ask the college kids behind us to please stop dropping F bombs every 2nd word. We were with our team so stuck with seats out there.

All valid… I got cooked on both sides last year along outfield foul lines. 1st base side does get shadier quicker. Was at Friday OU on 1st base side. Was at Sunday tu on 3rd base, so maybe that adds to my partiality. I also like to be able to see the replays without craning my neck.

My first trip I made the mistake of buying tickets well in advance. Don't do it. You'll be able to find seats at good prices right up until game time (like I did my second time).

We got tickets off stub hub, sat 1st base side for 4 games. Sit rows 22 or higher and you are in shade for all games.
