I get it….modern technology, competitive edge and all, but I think that this is overrated and unnecessary.

The pitch clock will go down as the single innovation that saved baseball. Every game finishes in under 3 hours now and the pacing is outstanding.

Why do authorities put rules into place? Because they have to. Players and coaches could not adequately self-police and baseball (especially in college) became a nearly unwatchable grind. I'm as much of a baseball purist as there is, but all of this floundering around the mound, stepping out and adjusting batting gloves, and general lollygagging was ruining a beautiful game.

Not a huge fan of it but I will say I haven't seen our catcher crossed up once this year. Not sure if Miss St was using it but their catcher just in our series I saw crossed up twice.

Now what I'm not a big fan of is the position players wearing them to get the pitch call.

Why?

My issues were always with the batters not the pitchers. Just step in the box and be ready to swing. Never understood why pitchers did not pitch right when they step int he box.
