Good to know I can see some of our guys locally instead of them all disappearing to the Cod and Alaska. Too bad they''ll be getting there a few weeks earlier than I'd hoped...

I know if I was going to play in the summer I would much rather play in Alaska or Cape Cod if for no other reason than the weather.

Yeah, but you have to pay your own way up there, as well as pick up more expenses like paying rent. In addition, it's harder for your family and friends to come see you play. If I were a local and had grown up playing in Texas all my life, would I give a hoot about playing more games in Texas weather? As long as the quality of play is strong, heck no. I think it's great for the Texas kids to have that league in the area. And great for me since I can see these guys play in the DFW area a lot more than I could get to BCS or a Big 12 game.

When I lived in Austin, I played in a summer league called Zaragosa. Many college players played in the same league because they did not want to travel to Mass or Alaska to play ball. I think this Texas League is a great idea

Colleyville-Grapevine - B.J. Boening, Steven Holdren, Blake Rampy
Coppell - John Infante
Graham - Doug Frame, Tyler Soeder
McKinney - Austin Boggs, Kyle Nicholson, Jerrett Turner
Mineral Wells - Jon Michael Cline, Parker Dalton, Lee Harughty, Jason Meyer
Weatherford - Todd Stroud, William Blackmon

So six of the eight teams have Aggies on them. There's tons of other big name schools as well both locally and nationally. Most of the big 12 schools have representatives, plus Rice, Florida State, Cal State Fullerton, Stanford, etc.

Also in Highland Park we have one of the new guys that will be joining the Aggies in the fall.

His name is Andy Howes, He is from Arizona but will be transferring from Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

He lead the team in batting average with a .380. His position is INF, he is 6'5.
The interesting thing is that at his previous school they used wooden bats.

I will be working for the league and watching our boys this summer so I'll try and keep everyone updated.

I was kind of hoping a few would make it up here to Alaska... it is always nice to see a friendly face when you are away from home.
