Planning to go to Hoover for 1st time. Looking for recommendations on best place to buy tickets, hotel and places to eat. Thanks.

There are no hotels walking distance to the stadium but plenty of parking.

If you are a golfer, I would stay at the Renaissance

If not, I would stay at the Hyatt Winfrey. Connected to a mall and nearby restaurants.

Besides that pick your chain hotel

Best restaurant are Firebird's and Redlands Grill which is walking distance from the Hyatt.

There is a cool Italian joint called Gianmarco's but it is a little drive.

We got burned a couple times by early exits by the Ags and did not care for Hoover much so do not go anymore. Save our money for the NCAA.

And the games, just like we saw in basketball, mean almost nothing unless you are a bubble team and win it.

The brackets are basically set prior to the conference tourneys.

I agree with Ed: don't spend time and money on the SEC tournament unless you live nearby, have a lot of time and money, or this particular week is the only time you can travel for Aggie baseball. If you are thinking about this, I would strongly urge you to hold off until we know what seed the Aggies get. If we are a top 4 seed and get a bye, then we are guaranteed 2 games and we will probably pitch Dettmer and Dallas in order to get set for the regional. If, on the other hand, we have to play on Tuesday, which is a win or go home deal, there is no way I'd make trip. We would likely start on of our bullpen arms, and winning this game would be a coin flip at best

Bottom line: it's a terrible format in an unattractive suburban parking lot venue

I would go to Ole Miss if you want to go watch Aggie baseball on the road.

And with Ole Miss having a down year, there are rooms at the Inn at Ole Miss and the Courtyard which are easy walking distance from the stadium.

I've read the posts and see the logic in skipping this tourney unless the ags are highly seeded, however I'm still contemplating making the trip.

I've wanted to go to the tourney for awhile, I'm enjoying the aggies progress this year, and I like watching other SEC teams play (it's good ball and the Vols are a monster). Plus I've got an Auburn bud who lives fairly close. He came to CS for the series this year and I've been to Auburn a couple of times.

I'm considering getting a 6 session ticket and going, so if any of you aggies think you'll be there or are familiar with the games, give me a reply. Maybe I'll see you there.

do aggie fans typically get together in Hoover and try to sit together at the games and do the usual bubbles, saw em off, etc? I've been to aggie road games before and noticed fans scattered all over and just doing the regular team support stuff. I'm curious about what to expect.

This SEC page has a lot of info: https://www.secticketoffice.com/

I'm thinking of getting the Dr Pepper 6 pack deal.
