I turned the game off in the 3rd. I don't need college baseball so badly that I will subject myself to that crap.
Wish he'd take a foul ball in the jaw. Its not that I want him harmed. I just want him to lose the ability to whistle for the rest of his life.

Okay, I am one of the biggest complainers on here about the Vandy whistler or whistlers, but I must say, he or they have been pretty discretionary so far. I am not going to say that I haven't heard them, but they haven't come close to their usual unbridled behavior. Maybe because I have been actively desiring Vanderbilt and the SEC to take it all. Will wait to see how crazy he or they get tonight to pass my final judgment. Come on Vandy, take it all tonight.

It's partially because he's been warned and then removed from some games. He knows that if someone complains, he's gone.

He is the sole reason I'm rooting for Michigan this year. My hate for the whistler outweighs my love for the SEC.

Hey, I get annoyed by the Vandy whistlers, too. But that does not mean they should be banned from the game. What if some other fan base gets annoyed by the "Ball 5" chant? That going to be run out of the stadium, too? First Amendment covers whistling, too, as far as I can tell. Live with it.
And congratulations to Vandy. Solid program. Envious.
We do not do the Ball 5 chant throughout the entire game. If he kept it to situational parts of the game it would be OK but all game long is way way way too much. If we start the ball 5 Chant on a 0-0 count with no outs in the top of the first and continue until the game ends... I'd agree with whomever wanted it stopped.
comparing the whistler to other chants, and even the MSU cowbells is completely out of tune. those two guys are egomaniacs that thrive off their newfound celebrity status.

It probably doesn't in all cases, but regardless, we're not discussing government intervention so the First Amendment has no basis in a discussion on what happens within the confines of a privately held event.

A ticket to a sporting event is a revocable license. They charge admission to make money. These guys drive away attendance (and viewership). The NCAA would be well within its rights (especially as a private entity) to issue a lifetime ban, and should do so.

What I observed last night was a "divide and conquer" approach. There was a guy behind HP whistling and others in the stands that took turns doing the same things that the whistler does. No way you can monitor numerous fans and keep them from whistling. Really beyond annoying, but impossible to police. Hope it was only for last night, but I seriously doubt it, especially when they play at home.

Whistler(s) can easily be ignored on tv (I frequently turn off the sportscasters anyway), but not at the game and anyone intentionally setting people's teeth on edge should be stopped. He should be warned BY VANDERBILT to stop that stupid **** or be renounced by the school and banned. It's up to them, really. They could discourage this if they wanted to. It's irritating me that they aren't.
Obviously, I don't buy any of the slippery slope arguments. As long as you aren't the super sensitive whiny type complaining about everything, you should complain If someone behind you is being rude and obnoxious.
If the entire Vandy crowd starts tweet tweet tweeting, then the problem has become a team/school thing like the cowbells and it's too late. I doubt anything can be done at that point except avoid their games. Which would work, by the way. But that isn't what this is. This is a couple of a-holes ruining the game for a lot of people in a lot of places.

If they ever come to Blue Bell, I'm going to use privileges I may or may not have, sit behind them, and yell loudly in their ears, singing tons of songs (off key, mind you) until they get sick of it and leave. Fight fire with fire.
