Sorry if this has been discussed already, but I've heard from an NCAA official(as reliable as it gets) that they're making the bats denser and raising the seam on the ball. Hopefully it's not a full small ball shift, but their concerns are for the weaker NCAA teams that run out of pitching by the 3rd game.

This probably favors RC's pitching emphasis, but I sure don't want to see the return of small ball. I don't want to drive 6 hours for 27 innings of weak singles and sac bunts.

The sudden shift to long ball success last year might have been too much. The bigger issue is TD Ameritrade isn't a college-style park anymore.

So they're going back to the raised seam balls from a couple years ago?

Are you saying both aren't true?
I hope not but like I said it's straight from a NCAA Official and he has no reason to lie to me so...

Game has been in balance lately. The only problem is that Ameritrade turns the game into softball.

It's January already. They can't be trying to roll out new bats this close to the season start date. Too many teams playing ball all across the country. The news would have been out by now.

Plus, Kendall just sad not happening.
