Just a thought! Everyone one is back from MJ's last lineup except Beerer, provided Patton does not get drafted. Outfield should stay the same, but I see a change in the wind in the infield!

Give me your thoughts on the the starters for next year.

Not sure, I do know that Ray, Infante, and Pennington will be a strong nucleus to this team.

I have a good feeling that Patton and Ruggiano will be back so our outfield is taken care of.

1B - Eric Scheidt
2B - Erik Schindewolf
3B - Parker Dalton
SS - Cliff Pennington

OF - John Infante
OF - Justin Ruggiano
OF - Cory Patton (if he stays)
OF - Coby Mavroulis

Hopefully we can get a good Freshman class recruited, and you can bet we'll have some good JUCOs coming in to throw in the mix.

Ray and Kensing should be our first two starters in '04...after that, it's anyone's guess. It depends on how many of our juniors get drafted and decide to leave.

I think wolf might leave to the pros, I know one of his friends and he said if the offer is right he will go.

Id guess pennington at short and the freshman Boggs at 3B. Dalton may take over 2B if Wolf leaves. Also, there are some good outfielders and pitchers coming in from JUCO so they could throw us a curve

Heh...talk about a one-track mind...I saw "starters for 04" and jumped straight to pitching.

Of our JUCOs from this past year, I think it's a given that Beerer is leaving, but the others (Scheidt, Patton, Ruggiano) might be back.

Mavroulis' return would be a boost to the outfield...Infante got some very good experience that he otherwise would not have received because of Scheidt's injury forcing Beerer from LF to 1B..

Patton will not return..Schindelwolf and Ruggiano are likely gone as well.
I have watched Ag baseball long enough to realize one thing...these kids dont stick around.

You can't just put out a blanket statement like that without any facts to back it up. Sure, anything is possible, our entire Jr class could be drafted and leave. Are there any indicators of that happening? Probably not.

Aggie - seriously, you don't know what you're talking about.

Patton will be back if he isn't drafted very early. He won't be drafted early.

What do I know though?

I thought Rugs would be gone. Patton is staying. We'll know soon enough.

More concerned w/ the pitching. Better hope JM comes back. Lots of fish will pitch.

I know one fact that the rest of you likely don't that leads me to believe Patton is gone.

I asked him after the game (barring an unbelievable offer).

I'd be interested in hearing this secret info on Cory. I've been following him since Owasso (OK) High School, and according to him and his fiancee, I think its likely that he'll be in maroon for '04.

Don't count out the juco guys for '04. I think Baldwin and Holdren will be in the lineup somewhere, although Holdren may go in the top 20 rounds tomorrow.

we shall see! it should be a fun summer!

Austin Boggs will almost surely take over 3B, so that means Pennington will move to the critical SS position. Schindewolf and Scheidt round out the infield.

The only real losses we have to recoup will be in the pitching staff, so hopefully a talented freshman or a JUCO stud can plug the holes.

We know for sure that Beerer isnt coming back?

Andrew Baldwin will step in and start in the OF... So, if Patton and Ruggiano stay, where does that leave Infante? I think we might have an over abundance of OF next year. Especially if Beerer stays (not a forgone conclusion he is gone.) I guess Beerer could play 1B, but where does that leave Scheidt? I think we might have a nice problem to have in '04... too many talented players.

Holdren will probably be in Maroon, but he will still listen to offers. You can't blame any kid for listening to offers with the draft.

There is no secret on Patton.

Both Baldwin and Holdren can play ball...

TM99 is a tease. Sometimes, when you find out something, you just sit there and go, "Oh well, hope he gets a nice contract" without going on Texags and egging all of the maroon minions on.

From what I heard Beerer is GONE, dont count on him being back.

BTHoTU... I heard exactly the opposite last night at Wings talking to a couple of athletic dept types. It all depends how high he goes in the draft. I think top 6 rounds and he is done. After that, prolly not.

I think he will go before the 6th, AND i BET HE GETS A BIG SIGNINIG BONUS IN THE MILS. If he is back, I will be one of the happiest people in Aggieland hope you are right

I've heard conflicting stories on Beerer - one says he's gone, one says he's gone if he goes top 10 rounds (which he will).

I'd love to have him back, but I think reality hurts for us and is great for him. I'm glad we had him at all, and we wouldn't have been where we are without him.
