Ags move up one spot to #6, but how in the world does tu move up a spot after losing one to Duke at home and pulling out two close wins? Also, OU drops a bit after going 1-2, and Baylor moves into the top 25 after sweeping a decent ORU squad.

I think tu moved up simply because Vanderbilt dropped.

Who did Florida play? They dropped one and stayed at #1?

OFN, they played CSF... I think Stanford should be #1 after their weekend against Vandy

CSF has a new, first-time head coach this year. They also didn't make a Super Regional for the 1st time since 2002 last year.

Collegiate Baseball Poll 2/20

SEC! SEC! SEC!

No need for radical movement in the polls (up or down) this early in the season. Too many factors going on that don't tell the whole story of a team's strengths...weather, figuring out rotations, goofy travel schedules, etc. I'm OK with the rankings holding fairly constant for another couple of weeks until everyone gets 10 or 15 games under their belts.

one of my preseason comments has already come true: UCLA over-rated by baseball america. And sure enough the bruins lost 2 games to Maryland.

the horns should have dropped. They are not a top 10 team minus Stafford. Tough series at Stanford next weekend.

Aaron Fitt: I do think Rice is the most complete team in the Lone Star State, although Texas A&M is not far behind. I thought both the Owls and the Aggies got very encouraging outings from their starting pitching this weekend (in A&M's case, the question was the Sunday starter job, and that appears to have been answered for now). Rice and Stanford are just constructed very differently. Stanford is an extremely, extremely offensive club, but its pitching after Appel and Mooneyham is still trying to sort itself out. I think Rice's greatest strength is its bullpen, which was lights-out this weekend, and its lineup is much less intimidating, though certainly plenty capable, as it showed this weekend. Great to have Jeremy Rathjen back if you're Rice.

tu rankings are always about false persiptions! If you are a sip team you get extra points for past teams. Just the way it is!

To be fair, the Horns do seem to end up in Omaha more often than not...so when all of the dust settles, maybe their rankings are justified.

Rice strapped out a 3-0 against FIU, they deserve to move up a spot. I still am not positive they should be ranked above us though. tu doesn't deserve to be in the top 25. The only reason they are ranked is because of ratings. It's the same thing with them being ranked in football. No one cares that they lost half of the the reason they were evening competitive last year, "they're Texas".

only ranking of the season that matters: top 8 teams after conference tourneys. even then, that can change.

This. Please stop telling us their ranking is because they are tu. Under garrido they have been very consistent. our best season this decade is what they expect every year.

Here is the link to what I assume ESPN considers the true poll. I guess the above is similar to their power rankings in other sports, just what ESPN writers feel were the best teams of the weekend.
