We are thinking about sending my 15yo nephew down to the camp this year. He is a solid player. This will be his first year on varsity and I was hoping it might help him with some skilled coaching and give him a better idea about A&M.

Does anyone have an opinion about how the camp is run or what he could expect?

Thanks.

If January camp is anything like the summer sessions, it will be VERY well done with plenty of hands-on attention from Coach Rob, his staff, and current/former players. My son has attended the futures camp the past 2 years and absolutely loves it.

Baseball camps are basically a way for the coaches to get some extra funds for their ga coaches. A&M does a good camp. My son went twice. Basically they do a day of skills and then split up and play games. Had good interaction with Aggie players. Sam Houston had a good skills camp. Stay away from SFA. Total money grab. Threw short bullpen then they hit for 5-10 minutes then forget it. $100 flushed down toilet. Was told that they were going to put evaluations on website. Never did

I work the A&M baseball camps every summer as well as others around the state. I can say without a doubt that A&M baseball and football camps are the best around. Coach Childress is at every day of camp and not just there, but actually coaching the kids. He thros BP to every kid on Olsen. At some of the summer camps there are around 300 kids and he throws BP to all of them. Great camp and worth the money!
