Very true.

For comparison, the entire Texas A&M pitching staff has given up 44 runs over 191 innings of work.

knock on wood...this is a very favorable matchup for the Ags. KU has only 1 left-handed pitcher that has thrown more than 1 inning this year. And he started Tuesday night. The KU staff averages 4+ walks/HBPs per game.

All of the coach's (Price) sons have moved through the program. Gonzaga is probably a better team than Kansas.

one more note...looking/hoping for a big attendance surge this weekend. Average attendance at 3,502 per game so far. That's behind last year's average (3,641 per).

bringing my two boys up from Katy to catch the Saturday afternoon game. No baseball for us this weekend.

Had to read the ERAs of our guys twice --- thought for sure there was a 1 or a 2 missing on the front end of those numbers. Dear God the pitching staff is nasty this year...

Does anyone know what time the Ags will begin BP on Sunday?

You can usually catch the very end of it if you go when the gates open an hour and a half before the game.

We could just mention that staff ERA overall is 1.79 in 191 innings. But here are some other guys:

Hinojosa: .69 in 13


Fleece (who has really stepped up a ton of times this year in a variety of important situations: 1.72 in 15.2 IP

Mendoza: 1.5 in 18 IP

I will be interested to see if we "take a game off" at the plate this weekend. IIRC, our two runs against Fullterton were unearned. Then we were three hit and shutout Friday night in Norman. Sadly, that wasn't the first 1-0 game we've lost this season.

We followed than with 11 runs and 19 hits on Saturday.

I can't figure this team out. Great pitching and defense but our offense has been downright bipolar.

Even after last night we can still pitch 27 scoreless innings!!

One unearned run. The ball that got to the backstop that moved the Jayhawk runner to second in the top of the 9th was ruled a passed ball.

And right on cue, we have 11 runs on 12 hits today. The guy that KU started today had much, much better stats than their starter last night, so I don't buy into the facing a team's ace on Friday line of thought.

We're 19 innings into this series and still haven't given up an earned run. Wow!
