I'm noticing if we are down or tied late in the game Ol Sarge is put on the scoreboard screen. He came through for us a cpl times this year and tonight was no different.

YABS...yet another baseball superstition...

I remember back in 1999 listening to a game on the radio where we losing badly. As I finished making a PB&J sandwich we rallied. By the time I had eaten it, we were ahead. We won the game, and I wound up making "Rally PB&J Sandwiches" every time we were behind (on the road, so I wasn't at Olsen) for the rest of the season. I don't know that I've had a PB&J in the 12 years since then.

Yes, *anything* can be effective if you're superstitious enough.

Took my son to the game last night and my son keep asking me who the fireman in the red hat was...."Son that's maroon, it's our colors." "Well, it looks red to me & he looks mad" "I don't understand where is the fire?"

It's Rally Rooster, but thanks for the love, gents-I'll let him know. He's retired now. Spends his days playing 42 and heckling opposing left fielders in the retirement community softball league. Rally Sarge will have to do, but if things get messy, I can make a few phone calls and arrange for an appearance.

Rally Rooster is the greatest...I will never forget the music blaring from the van and us yelling "turn it up!" from the bullpen. Good times.

And FYI, the "rally chicken" would be the rubber chicken we hung from the bullpen light...I think it also made an appearance taped to a stick. Lol

Haha, I remember that rubber chicken. Did you ever see the picture book Renfro and Feltner colored a few years ago? I'm sure one of us has it somewhere.
