I have been wondering, what is Childress always pointing out during the pregame meeting? Is there something over by the visitors dugout that has to be covered in the ground rules?
More likly Childress is telling the coach and the umpires what is still in play what is not. For instance, if catcher catches a foul ball at least one foot must be in play before going into the dugout.
It could also mean that if a ball goes into the protective fence area where the Diamond Darlings usually sit it is a dead ball and extra bases will be awarded.
If the ball bounces off the side of the dugouts it is still in play but if it goes into the dugout its a dead ball, extra bases are awarded.
Stuff like that. There may be more but that is all I know for now.
Wildman, is there anyway you could take some pictures of the whole field sometime? It's always a pleasure to see what patterns Leo and the Field Crew put in the grass.
That was such a great game. I was literally the only person in the RFB... I got a foul ball that landed in a trash can. That was so hilarious when the coach went nuts, he chucked his hat so far and then the buckets of baseballs was epic. I remember laughing with SFA's bullpen catcher & talking about how we had never seen anything like that at a game we'd actually been at. Good stuff
