One pitcher that will not return is Jordan Chambless. Injuries have kept Chambless, who would have been a senior, from coming close to matching his freshman season when he was considered one of the best relievers in the Big 12.

Chambless practiced in the fall with the team but made the decision to just concentrate on his degree at A&M at the beginning of the semester.

I am so sorry to hear this. Jordan was absolutely unhittable in 2005 before spring football drills. It's been nothing but injuries for him since then. It's good to hear that he's going after his degree though.

we knew in the fall that Chambless would not pitch. He was working a few infield positions during the fall series, but, sadly, looked defeated.

perhaps the final casualty of the disastrous Fran era in Aggieland

good grief, Fran and his staff couldn't recruit a decent punt returner, so they had to use the 3rd string QB/safety in a blowout game in Colorado.

Good luck JC... were always pulling for you to get back to form, but congrats on the discounted education!

That is something that I hope collegiate athletes remember - the get a lot of their schooling paid for.

Thats too bad, always had unhittable stuff but could never get healthy. As others have said, I'm glad that he is going to get his degree, he deserves at least that

Blue collar hard working kid, its a shame...I figured he would never see the mound again , but I wanted to see him take a few hacks this year.
Best of luck Jordan.

This wasn't the result of the punt return injury. This was a freak thing where he slipped on a ball in practice and hurt his ankle. he tried to keep throwing and hurt his shoulder when he changed his mechanics. he never recovered from that shoulder injury.

I first saw Jordan play at Calallen H.S. He was a great athlete. Sorry that it is over for him but wish him well in the future.

Amazing talent. He should have never stepped on Kyle. I think the kid could have played in the majors someday. He was THAT good!

I bet it was his choice to play football and as a backup, he won't be getting into games unless they're a blowout...or a starter gets injured- as it's just as easy to get injured in a close game as it is a blowout.

What were they supposed to do? They have a kid who accepted a football offer, they have a kid who wants to play football...are they supposed to keep him on the sideline every second of every game because the kid also plays baseball?
