I live out of town and have not had a chance to see us play this year. If things work out, I will be making the trip to College Station to watch us play Tech. I am hoping for a 2-1 series win and would be ecstatic with a sweep. What do you think?

a 2-1 or a sweep is most likely, Our losses this year where to mediocre teams that were playing very well though we have made plenty of game losing errors. I still know we are the better team, but when they played up we played down. the series against tech should be very good for us.

Negative talk about the baseball team will not be tolerated from RockTX nor the creep who sits to my upper left at the games. He comes late, leaves early, 'does email maintenance' during the game and makes negative comments about the team throughout. Positive vibes only!

Tech is 7-6 on the year, and has only played 2 home games. And their next 6 games including the series in College Station are also road games.

Tech's #1 starter is pretty good (Bettis). The red raiders field at about the same % as the Ags, so if defense is a push in the series that's a big plus for A&M.

Finally, for the Ags to win the series or sweep it may come down to someone coming out of the bullpen to retire Roger Kieschnick in a late inning situation. He is by far their best player. He should get some intentional walks this weekend.

lol wildmen I hope you got that I was playing on the fact that barring any weather event, a 2-1 or a sweep are the only possible outcomes (if order doesn't matter).

I think it may be a 2-0 sweep or we split it 1-1 (possibly on a short game called for weather) because there's no way we're playing three with the weather forecast for this weekend...

...and the fact that it's tceh...it always rains playing tceh.

In all seriousness though. I think you're choosing to have blind optimism if the losses by this team don't concern you at least a little bit.

Not saying we suck but I definately don't think we're good.

You are basing your decison on two early season losses to N. Colorado and a late inning collapse against Rutgers? Really?

We have a lot of talent, and I think we will be in good shape throughout the Big 12. The key will be the ability to come up with solid starting pitching performances and clutch hitting.

We have not lost a home series to Texas Tech in 25 years.

So, what are you basing your evaluation of the team on? What makes you think we're good?

I guess what I'm asking is...what signs point to us having a good team?

Ranked #25 in NCBWA and #21 In ColBB polls. (edit old polls we dropped out in 1 and down in the other)

Not saying where are great but I think there are enough good things to be positive about. Too many people want to drift over from the other boards and jump off the cliff because we have lost all of 3 games.

Also we absolutely own tech at home. Just because we can’t win in football doesn’t mean we’ll lose to them in baseball.

of the three losses...

2 came on the same day...it's a hell of a thing when you have an off day and a doubleheadder on the same day...

the third came in sub 50 degree weather when we were struggling with pitching...had 7 of our feilders not been left out to be popsicles our errors would have been nonexistant that game. Take a few unearned runs off the board and we won that one. The temp came back up for the end of the series and we absolutely crushed them.

Saying we aren't very good is ridiculous.

I'm not a blind optimist, and I think we have a very competitive team this year.

If last year is an indication then Rutgers is most likely better than Tceh.

I think A&M ought to take 2 out of 3 this weekend. Ya'll are pretty good at home and have played most of your games at home if I'm correct, while Tech has only played 2 games at home. I look forward to a good series at Olsen Field this weekend, I've never been there and hear it's a good place to play.

I believe I'm correct in saying that Tech has never won a series at Olsen.

I think the Ags take at least 2, with a shot at a sweep.

Yeah, it's a great place to play, especially if you don't mind the crowd getting into your head the whole time.
