Why couldn't the ref in the Ag game dig deeper for his flag like the back judge in the Kentucky game?

just saw a flag for a late hit in the msu-uL game but the player was still in bounds when he was tackled.

Maybe the worst call ever. Not only was he still inbounds the hit caused a fumble recovered inbounds by MSU. There was no review (I guess the penalty wiykd negate a review) but even worse the announcers acted like it never happened. No mention of hit being inbounds or of fumble. I really hate how announcers cover for bad refs.
