Silly corndogs, I think they love being known as the trashiest fans in the SEC.

White said she constantly apologizes, sometimes it’s in response to an email from a disgruntled alumni or parent. Other days, it’s the first thing she does when fellow SEC colleagues come to Baton Rouge on gamedays.

Technically, they are talking about reserved student seats where organizations have a block of tickets, i.e. frats. It sounds like there is also a student GA section.

Based solely on my experience this year in Baton Rouge, I'd say the "trashiness" of their fans is vastly overblown. I experience nothing but hospitality the whole weekend. Were there a few "tigerbait" calls mixed in? Sure, but it was all good-natured.

Regarding the "vulgar chant" referenced in this article. I heard it and actually thought it was hilarious, simply from the perspective of a college football fan. If I had kids with me I might feel different, but they don't curse and to me it's not anything overly offensive.

Well, based solely on my experience in Baton Rouge this year, I'd say they deserve every disparaging comment that comes their way. Profane and belligerent doesn't tell the half of it. Disgraceful.

I can put up with a lot but there was some serious personal trash talking when we were in Baton Rouge this year. It took quite a bit of restraint to not turn around and deck these 150 lb sheett talkin ******s.. especially when they started directing comments at the girls that were with us that had done absolutely nothing to provoke such remarks.

I'm with RCB05, the majority of LSU fans I met couldn't have been nicer. I can't wait to go back.

Everyone we met were very nice. We had a great time and plan to go every time we know we can get tickets.

I will say that some of the folks seated near us in Tiger Stadium were way over the top. We were seated 2 rows behind the A&M bench and two different guys who didn't know each other were screaming obscene laced homosexual rants at the top of their lungs at our players. I mean it was beyond sad and obscene. Both guys ended up being kicked out and several fans apologized to us. I just can't see any Aggies or A&M fans getting away with this at Kyle. The fans sitting around them would put them in their place directly without needing to get the ushers or a LEO, but that didn't happen in BR.

I think it is mostly the students. There was a frat house (one that is supposedly notorious for going waaay over the top) who had a sign hanging out front either last year or the year before their game with Kent State that said:

Kent State knows all about massacres!

Watching that video, there is no way, at all, that that is one section of reserved seats. That's the whole damn student section. Singling it out to just greek students would be stupid. Greeks arent the only ones who go to games plastered. Esp at a place like LSU

I thought their game day atmosphere was the best I've ever seen. I can't wait to go back.

every one of us LSU fans over the age of 22 finds it offensive. Once the college kids grow up and return to the games they will see it as offensive also. Hard to control what drunk college kids in a student section say.

Ummmmmmmmmm..... How about Arkansas??? LSU is pretty bad on gameday, but Hog fans knock the scumbag meter off the scale.

LSU's stadium was half full for our game. The tailgating was everything I expected. Inside the stadium was very disappointing.

LSU was everything I had expected when we went for the game, minus the outcome.. We had an awesome time, sure there was some A**holes but there will always be "those" people. As for the vulgar chants, at first we were caught off guard cause we just didn't believe what they said, then we just laughed. It was hilarious, but I understand how they do not want to be remembered for chants like that.

Correct, we don't want to be remembered for the vulgar language in Tiger Stadium. We were threatened back 30 years ago because of the chant directed at Florida State (F... the Seminoles, F... the Seminoles). I know we took it seriously because after the Washington game in 1984 where we beat the #3 Huskies 40-14 in front of 83,000 fans in a 75,000 seat stadium, the administration and the fire marshall made up get in line to pick up our student tickets from then on. Before we would just show our ID and would get in. After that we lost about 20 percent of our football seats and 40 percent of basketball.

Anybody who goes to an LSU game with the expectation that they will not hear terrible obscenities and see over-the-top vulgar fan behavior is just fooling themself.

Anybody who thinks that all LSU fans behave that way is just fooling themself.

Anybody who thinks that there is not any bad behavior at an LSU game is just fooling themself.

That is part of the LSU football game experience.

Woe to anyone who tries to change it;
woe to anyone who tries to ignore it.

Swamp-sewer dwellers will be swamp-sewer dwellers. It's unreasonable to expect what comes from their mouth not to resemble how their backyard smells.

I want to thumb down and thumb up this. I despise frats, and giving them reserved seats is stupid. However, loudest stadium I've ever been in and The Neck was hilarious.

Anybody else get the feeling LSU fans will have this read to them and be disappointed their efforts are being recognized as only one step over the line?

Get over yourselves, its college football. If you don't like s*** talking and obscenities being yelled grow a pair. I personally went to the game this past year, wore maroon, partied with fraternities and walked around and not once did I get anything but welcoming gestures.
