Half of NWST's RPI is their opponents' winning percentage. That now makes up 1/10th of 1/4th, or 1/40th, of our RPI. Maybe that's why their RPI is still better than ours.

Yes but shouldn't we have gotten a better bounce from beating them?

Their record boosts half of our RPI, while beating them only adds to 1/4 of our RPI. At this point especially, RPI is FAR more about who you play than if you actually win.

RPI is not the greatest method (in my opinion) but it is something the committee looks at, so we have to follow it. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that a home win counts for 0.7 wins, while a home loss counts for 1.3 losses. The reverse is true if you are on the road. I guess that doesn't matter much since we are undefeated, but just another twist I thought was in the rating system.

The RPI will become more accurate as more teams play each other and there are more "common opponents."
