Home Playoffs!! -March 15, 2005

Regardless of the tough and disappointing loss to Kansas State at the conference tournament, it is time to move on. We were guaranteed 28 games this season and we are about to play our 29th. We couldn't be happier then to be at home to start our postseason run. We face a very, very tough Clemson team that has really turned it on late in the season. They are the most athletic team we have seen on tape or in person all year. The great thing is that we are at home and the department is doing everything they can to make this the best home court advantage we have had to date. To all of our students, we need you to come back to town in full force and be louder then you've ever been in your life. I want EVERYONE to get the NIT shirts according to where you are sitting and help the effort to Maroon and White out Reed Arena. It's been 23 years since we last hosted a playoff game in Men's Basketball. We beat Lamar (barely) in front of roughly 3,000 fans at G. Rollie. I don't want anything close to that. I want much, much more. We're calling on Aggies near and far, students, faculty, and the entire local community to get tickets and t-shirts and make this THE place to watch a basketball game and to show Clemson that we mean business. Come and together let's BTHO clemson!

Does anyone know if the Association sent out an email to alumni? There should be enough Old Ags in the Houston area to fill Reed several times.

No, they haven't.

But Miles did send out email to the TMF members.

Back in '85 (when I was a mere 32 years old, I drove down from Arlington to watch that game in front of a pitiful crowd (I was shocked). Little did I know that I was attending the last home post-season game for 20 years!! Had we had better attendance, we would have hosted the next week and would have had a chance to really dance. Let's not make the same mistake this year! Gig'em!

Any early word on attendance projections? Hate that this falls during Spring Break. I worked a couple of Spring Break's in College Station when I was in school and the town was dead then. Sure hope we get a nice crowd.
