...That AW should stay one more year.

Granger just decided that New Mexico was going to win that game. He picked his team up in the crunch time and pushed them to the tourney. It didn't matter that UTah threw everyone at him including Bogut.

He displayed the type of toughness and fortitude that impresses NBA scouts. He's got game to. Inside and out. I was very impressed with him last night.

AW is not there yet, He can get there next year! He needs to come back and finish the last parts of his game that remain. If he does he wil be a lottery pick.

I kinda see what you are saying, but I don't think that's a fair comparison. Granger wasn't projected last year to be drafted as high as AW is projected this year. Granger wasn't giving much up by coming back.

AW is still projected to go far ahead of Granger, even after he came back.

Wright is at #15 in mock drafts right now while Granger is an early 2nd round selection. Your comparison makes zero sense. Lawrence Roberts is an example of why Wright will not stay.

As is Ryan Gomes.

I agree with OPAG. I've watched Granger throughout his career at UNM and have obviously loved watching AW develop into a pretty darn good player this year. But Granger is underrated on that mock draft and is better in my opinion because of the experience and the intangible element. I predict Granger will be a first rounder before all is said and done...especially if UNM beats Villanova and moves deeper into the tournament. Granger has that clutch "give me the ball" crunch time mentality I wish AW posessed. Physically, they are very similar - both 6'8" with excellent skills. I just wish AW took one more year to develop playing for us rather than sitting the NBA bench next year. It definitely helped Granger.

I am not saying he is going to come back. I am saying why I think he should.

It's a lot easier to learn that sort of toughness at the senior year at a college level than the pros.

I want AW to be a significant pro. Not just a roster guy who gets 15 minutes or so a night.

I think he can be a great pro. I think one more year will help him, both in his draft status and in game development.

Not saying your wrong Harry, but I haven't seen him go as high as 15 on any mock drafts yet. Could you provide a link?

People overrate Wright's potential. He is simply not that great of an athlete. He's a very athletic player, but he doesn't have the explosiveness to create his own shot at the next level. If he comes back next year, then I'm sure that he'll improve on what is already a great college repertoire, but I don't expect him to be much more than a good role player in the NBA. His stock may rise by staying one more year based solely on the possible age limit that the NBA might impose next year.

I disagree Steven. I think AW has athletism coming out the kazoo. I have seen him show flashes of things that amaze me.

That's why he should come back. He doesn't yet know it. He can take over a game. He was so beat down his second year here. He even admitted that he is shocked by how well we did.

He needs to develop the confidence and game that Granger did. I don't know how Granger will fit in the draft but the guy is a great athlete, He is strong, has a nice shot, but it was his will that impressed me. I haven't seen him much, but he really impressed me, and I am sure some NBA guys last night. He just took over and took over when it really counted!

I agree with Seven Costanza in that many Jrs. could improve their stock by staying a year, assuming the NBA age limit is in place the draft after this one.

Roberts was not going to be a top pick last year...I think he struggled in the pre-draft camps.
