I didn't realize he is still playing in the NBA (Pelicans). He hasn't seen action since October 2025, but has gone for 6 points, 15 rebounds and 6 points, 8 rebounds in the last two games including 6 total blocks.

He entered the league in 2008-09 for the Clippers and has made $175M over his career. Here's where he ranks in some all-time stats:

#1 in career FG%
22nd in defensive rebounds
26th in offensive rebounds
33rd in career rebounds
37th in blocks

At Texas A&M 2007-08 season: 35 games, 7.9 ppg, 6.0 rebounds, 1.25 blocks.
Ags went 25-11 under Mark Turgeon.

TRIVIA: Without looking name the Ags leading scorer (in the comments below) and how many ppg he averaged.

Man that was a weird team, without looking I'd guess Josh Carter and about 13 or 14 points.

DeAndre might be one of our most "actually better than people remember" players.

Had no idea he was #1 in career FG%. Looks like there's only 7 players with a career FG% over 60% (with >2000 FG made), and Deandre is at 67%.

Jordan is a case of us getting his freshman year when he was really raw, but I bet if he had stayed for another season he probably would have been a monster for us

Even raw, how valuable would a 7-footer putting up 8 points, 6 boards and more than a block in 20 minutes a night be for us right now?

The other big contributors on that team would have been Jordan, Derrick Roland, Bryan Davis, and Dominque Kirk.

Elonu would have been on the team but I dont think he did too much as the 4th big man that year.

Yeah, that team was pretty balanced on scoring. Everyone from Jones back to Jordan was within about three points of each other.

Good for him! Glad to see an Ag continuing their success at such a high level. How do we get him to help lead the charge on the NIL front for basketball (and football?)?

#1 all-time field goal percentage is absolutely wild. Never in a hundred years would have guessed that

Never forgave him after the bull**** clown show he pulled on the Mavericks in 2015. A decade later and I couldn't care less about the NBA so whatever. Good for him and his career.

I preferred Brian Davis on that team. He played hard the whole time.

His senior year he went to Christian Life Center Academy in the Atascocita/Humble area I think.
I lived in Atascocita at the time and my kids played at a local basketball league at a place called.... The Gym.

One day when my kids were playing in a league there, the Christian Life Center team had a high school game on one of the courts. I remember seeing a few new crews filming DeAndre and so I hung out around the baseline to watch a few minutes to see who this guy was. And, man, he had several of those WOW dunks right in front of me. I played high school basketball but just could not imagine having to play against THAT!!!

I wonder what his "NIL" deal was at that academy.

We were robbed of greatness went D-Ro had that gruesome leg break.

That team was loaded. Sloan, Roland, Davis, Dash, BJ, Walkup, Loubeau, Middleton,

I can't seem to find it, but Jordan had an absolutely massive outback dunk during his one year, I think it was against Iowa State.

I remember being shocked that he slipped to round 2 of the draft. He's no Hakeem Olajuwon, but a legit 7-footer who can consistently score in the paint while racking up rebounds and blocks is something almost every NBA team needs.

That's it. That is the most athletic thing I've ever seen in person.
bobinator

The most athletic play I think I've ever seen is one he almost made. I want to say it was against Oklahoma and the Griffins, but he tried to dunk it over one of them and it ended up being a defensive foul but it was one of the craziest things I've ever seen. The audacity to even try it was wild.
