I had a huge problem with Jimbo year after year saying the football team needed to execute better. The team executes better when they are coached better. Blaming the players got real old very fast.

Bucky on the other hand continues to say we are executing better because they are buying into the coaching. He makes a point of saying that sometimes you make the shots but the secret is to execute better which positions you to make the shots. This team is learning how to run the different offenses and defenses, which means they are actually getting much better coaching. Thus leading to first place with 30% of the season already over.

They have been making shots.

Based on current SEC standings, we have yet to play any of the top 8 teams in the top 9 teams with us at 4-1 and tied for first. The next 2 home games will still be against teams in the bottom 7 of the current standings.

After 5 games, hard to say who are actually the best teams in the SEC as standings somewhat skewed by opponents played, and home vs. away. I think the best are UF, Bama, UK, Vandy and Arky....and maybe our Ags.
If I am right, we have not played any of the 5 I listed.

Auburn may be a top team, and maybe Georgia? Hard to say. Road wins vs. Auburn and t.u. were hugs for our Ags. We likely favored to beat Miss St. and S. Carolina this week at home to go to 6-1. Many felt that would be the most SEC wins for us this year.

We have a right to be excited so far. Just need to stay healthy and keep getting better!
