That's good but ignores the fact that the game should have already been over. There shouldn't have even been an opportunity for an inbound pass or shot.

Was honestly surprised the refs took so long on the review. Was extremely obvious that the clock didn't start on time.

I believe it's usually local folks. But if you're a die hard Auburn fan and get lucky enough to get paid to have courtside seats, you probably aren't dumb enough to try to intentionally impact the game using your official position. I think this was more a case of human reaction time taking a 10th or two of a second to kick in. Luckily that can be fixed on replay review.

Bucky McMillan received clarity from the SEC on the final shot with 0.6 seconds left against Auburn.

McMillan says the SEC broke it down frame by frame and it took KeShawn Murphy .78 seconds to get his shot off.

Also, in today's presser Bucky said that the clock should've been at 2.0 not 2.4. The .4 was added mistakenly.

Lot of good stuff in that:

They noticed before the game that the corner scoreboard tenths of a second clock was wrong.

The review of the final shot wasn't like a challenge with indisputable evidence needed to overturn. Buzzer beaters have to be confirmed space between fingers and ball before time expires.

It doesn't even matter. I have no idea how many thousands of shots I have taken in my lifetime, but I do know that to get backward rotation on a basketball requires your wrist to break and the last thing to touch the ball are one if your three middle fingers. This can happen at about 30ish degree wrist angle compared to the forearm. The photo shows his hand in almost perfect alignment with his arm when time expires. If the ball is not touching his hand at that point, it would come out like a knuckle ball. It does not do that, so the ball is still touching his hand at that moment.

When I used to officiate this was something I relied on to determine if a shot beat the noise of the buzzer.

I made this point earlier. Anyone who has shot a basket knows it's still touching his fingers at the 0s. You don't need 4K video.
