good news to avoid a recession and rebuilding American manufacturing

U.S. economy added 228,000 jobs in March, far above estimates

Forecasters had expected an increase of 140,000, with the unemployment rate unchanged.

it's bad news for the stock market because Wall Street will now believe that inflation will go up and that the Fed will not lower their lending rate

on the other hand, in real life over the last week the 10 year Treasury has been plunging from 4.9% to under 4% which should be making Wall Street happy.

it's good news for avoiding a recession and getting jobs to Americans in manufacturing and the private sector!

I'm wondering if these numbers will be revised up now that Joe is out of office? No reason to prop up those numbers anymore….

I think you mean revised down

because they were always propped up under Biden and then revised down months later.

so with a Republican, the opposite will occur.

It depends on who is in the White House and which side you ask.

What people kick and scream about when their side isn't in office they no longer care about when their side is in.

So, in other words, it depends.

No

With Joe they tried to prop things up to make him look better only to have to revise things down later on.

With Trump, they'd try to limit how good things look and keep that number as low as possible only to have to admit they were low the first time and revise things up.

Well one thing we know for sure, these aren't a lot of government jobs being added.

This is an amazing number given all the federal employee layoffs.

Apparently only 10k federal employees have been let go in that number.

Maybe with the doge on the loose, these statisticians will do a better job since there might be one or two 18-year-old AI armed wiz kids who can check their numbers.

Yet.

I'd be extremely surprised if the next dem president didn't bring them all back to "bring jobs and the economy roaring back."

What can be done by a president can, and usually does, be undone by the next.

They are all junk jobs like Walmart greeter and janitor. Biden would use those to show how awesome he was. Let's not be fooled.

Job market sucks and these days companies are all on freeze mode.

Almost no one has been let go thanks to federal judges blocking it.

For sure, my comment was more tongue in cheek.

Let me ask you something... You are always negative about jobs, the future, the economy, etc... Are you gainfully employed? If so, are you in a janitor type job? If not and you have a decent job, then why so negative?

Give Judge Boasberg a minute. He'll add 1,000,000 jobs. Right now he is busy running other departments of the executive branch.

it's more important that fuel prices are plummeting,

job growth in private sector increasing

food prices dropping

home prices dropping

than the equity markets.

Where is this happening? Not here in Northern Mexico (a.k.a. San Antonio).
