Missing on beard blows, I will not lie, but I'm going to bring some positivity in here. If you would have told me a&m would say f*** it, offer him 7 mil for a BASKETBALL coach, I would think you were crazy. We are so desperate for winners and say what you want about his past, we wanted a winner and we were willing to pay the amount. We missed, but this is a step in the right direction, now let's see if we do anytning about it.

Crazy to think Beard would have been making as much as Elko's base salary here at A&M.

People are gonna bag on Trev, but if Ole Miss is throwing that much at the guy, I'm not mad or embarrassed that he wants to stay

He's a proven winner, and we valued that which I'm glad. He's getting slack for the earley hire, but at the time it seemed right. Definitely need to see who he hires for basketball before I can give him hate.

If you think we have a bit of a "little brother" complex, its nothing like what the Mississippi schools (and Auburn, to an extent) have in relation to Alabama. If they want to money whip someone, they will. Hell, Brett Farve has them spending "covid relief money" on a new gym for USM's volleyball tean.

Supposedly, it was a really good offer on both salary and NIL. We can't hang with powerhouse Ole Miss?

The key is finding the right coach not the most expensive one. Beard, I think, would have been great here and I think he'll eventually be kicking himself for not taking it. But, when we broke the bank on Fisher it proved simply paying top dollar doesn't get you much unless the guy is actually a good coach.

If I am Beard and I graduated from tu, and it's the same money at Ole Miss, I am not coaching at A&M.

I would choose to coach at any SEC school over tu if I am a coach if the money is same.
