I can't really pick one. Leaning towards Payne who was grossly underutilized (yes I know the defense whatever).

I think the player that is the most DAWG is Solo. Payne is probably slightly lower on the four factors of DAWG-ness but is a better player. I think it's between those two. Andy doesn't have DAWG confidence enough of the time to be DOTY.

Give me Andy for DOTY.

Solo's defense with Payne's offense in the same player would be the national player of the year.

Andy Garcia and it isn't close. he is an all time dawg in my book.

I can see why people like Garcia for it, but to me you can't be the top DAWG if you're someone that the coaching staff has to actively encourage to shoot the ball. A lack of confidence in, or willingness to utilize, your own abilities is a very not-DAWG trait.

No doubt that Garcia is the "scrappy player of the year," but DAWG in the way Method usually means it isn't just scrappy. It's a guy that just physically imposes his will on the game. If anything they're usually overconfident.

Yes. It's Solo. He embodies the DAWG mentality.

Your offseason assignment is to create a "DAWG/Skill" matrix and an associated curve where we should be recruiting. How much DAWG do you need to have no skill, how much skill to have no DAWG and everywhere in between.

Ok I've revised my thoughts. Offensive dawg is Payne. Defensive Dawg is Solo. Part of being a DAWG is generating important baskets by sheer will. Solo just jacked 3s this year.

What do we think is going in more - a Jace FT or a Solo 3P?

i think you miss the greatness of andy Garcia, he is the ultimate dawg because he influenced the game in so many ways without scoring. that said in big games or big moments andy garcia made alot of big buckets especially when factoring in volume of shots.
