Absolutely amazing. The fact that we can't even sniff what these two retreads are doing in the tournament is shameful.
Tech has a better program than us for 40 years. They care about basketball.texag101 said:

They care a lot about basketball as a fanbase, have donors that care a lot about basketball and I envy their home environment. I've never been to a game there, but any time they play a big game at home their atmosphere is absolutely in the top tier of the sport. They've made a lot of really good decisions in a row as it pertains to their basketball program, with just one Mark Adams blip.AgEfan said:Tech has a better program than us for 40 years. This Tech team is really good, but they also benefited from playing 3 double digit seeds.
Fun little fact for those who only watch college basketball in March, we beat both of those teams this season!texag101 said:

Not bad for year one.bobinator said:
Arkansas is paying their coach $8M and their roster $10M and they went 8-10, tied for 11th, in the league and were a bubble team this year.
You think we're not getting value but Arkansas is because they won one more game than we did in the tournament?
I read somewhere on this board about building a new arena because Reed was aging. .... If you want to "throw the kitchen sink at basketball" and in doing so build a new arena - you build a smaller arena, not a larger one. You make it where it becomes the hottest ticket in town. Forget playing to 3,500 fans in a 12,000 seat arena. Cut the seating to 7,000, or less, and basketball will be more popular than football. This model works.rondis23 said:
Love that Aggie Basketball has generated more interest over the last 10-15 years, but hate that A Lot only tune in come March.
Bobinator hit the nail on the head, Arkansas is throwing the kitchen sink at Basketball. We still make excuses for fans not showing up to Reed for midweek games.
you don't need a new arena. They don't need to build smaller, if you want a smaller venue they make tarps. We got bad seats that nobody would miss.Farmer @ Johnsongrass, TX said:I read somewhere on this board about building a new arena because Reed was aging. .... We were without our program's all time point leader for two winnable losses. Had he played and we won, we would have been a 3 seed at worst with a much easier draw than Michigan in round 2.
But he was injured. Something every team has to deal with. We beat Tech mostly in front of their crowd. Facts are pesky sometimes, but they are facts.
How did they prove it? They played in a far worse league allowing them to pad their resume and get a higher seed, got to play 11 seed Drake in the second round while we faced Big 10 tourney winner 5 seed Michigan, and just barely beat Arkansas, a team we absolutely handled.BraxtonW said:Heineken-Ashi said:We did beat them. They got a favorable draw and took advantage. But there's nothing that clearly shows them as better than us. And head to head in a mostly favorable arena for them says they aren't.

And this nonsense about Big 12 (whoa.. scary tough league this year) POY making a huge difference. We had to go small in our game against them which is why Payne only had 14m of playing time. He also had not yet emerged as the player he turned into. I wouldn't trade their B12 POY for Payne.
You have no evidence they would beat us other than negativity against us.
But you post a mean laugh cry. I'll give you that.

We have to hang our hat somewhere. But man would it have been nice to have their path to an elite 8.
