He is the other New Mexico guard that i have been mentioning on other threads.

https://www.krqe.com/news/community/second-unm-starter-enters-transfer-portal/

As a defensive specialist who also got 4 rebounds per game, he would fit into the Buzz mold.

AND he has at least 2 more years of eligibility left - currently a sophomore.

Likely more "affordable" than his teammate, Donovan Dent, but - again, who knows? - signing Washington might improve our chances of getting Dent if we can scrape up the funds...

Can he shoot? Or maybe not and he fits right in.

Averaged 11-12 points per game as the secondary scoring guard. 33% from three-point range - so not great. Decent ball handler. Crashed the boards well for a guard. Would probably average 5-6 rebounds under Buzz

I don't know.

There can only be solo true Washington.

33%?

So another guy that's not really a shooting threat

Until we see how our redshirt freshmen and incoming freshmen guards perform, would be good to get an experienced guard or two or three out of the portal.

Tru would qualify - though definitely more of scorer at the basket than from outside. That being said, 33% is probably better than most of the Aggies over the past several years outside of Wilcher - and perhaps Garcia (the latter with low volume shooting until near the end of his career).

Again, someone said in another thread that his teammate, Donovan Dent, was heading to Duke. So, since the head coach at New Mexico, Richard Pitino, is bring hired to replace Sean Miller and coach at Xavier, Tru might try to follow him there...

Yeah, I wouldn't be against getting him but at some point we need to add some guys that can shoot but also do other things, not just a wilcher type who can only jack up 3 s but is lacking elsewhere

Tru's overall game way more complete than Wilcher's was.
