Anyone else get completely hyped and nervous for these games? I see tons of people just watching thr game and totally relaxed like watching a movie.

That is not me. I stepped away from coaching partly because it just wore me down all basketball season. My team plus all the Aggie games really wore on me. Now, I'm not Joseph Jones level (puking before the games), but I'm up there.

Question. Who gets really nervous and what do you do to cope?

Nervous? Yes. To cope? Whiskey and backwoods.

I just assume we're going to lose. Makes it a lot easier watching the game.

My wife was worried that I broke my hand hitting the arm of the chair on Thursday.

I prepare for the worst, then anything short of the worst is a good game. And even if it is the worst, I'm not a screaming, stressed out maniac… because it was expected.

I get less nervous each round because as we advance we are less likely to win and we've accomplished more.

If we make it past the sweet 16 I won't be nervous at all because it's all gravy at that point.

Just give me another week with this team.

Just want to get through to next weekend. Everything gravy after that. Let me know if you figure out a solution. I just take days off my life every game

Exactly.

It ruins the tournament for me if we are outscored and run our of time in the first game.

Once we win that first game, I relax - knowing that if we WIN the Round of 32 game, we enter rarified air for Texas Aggie Men's Basketball!

Agreed. It bums me out knowing that a loss will be the last game for most of this team. I have followed this team/Buzz's tenure more closely than any other since I left school in 2012.

I used to be that way, when I was in school or my early 20s. As a man in my late 30s with a family, job, and my own hobbies, it feels inappropriate to let Aggie sports dictate my mood or wreck me emotionally.

I still follow it closely, since it is one of my main sources of entertainment, but now that I'm almost old enough to have kids as old as these players, I just take it in stride…enjoy the highs but don't mope about the lows.

I get extremely nervous and have for years. Only way I can cope is listen to game on radio, now that we have elite professional broadcaster. Radio feed is usually 10 seconds ahead of TV. If something good happens I turn to TV, if a bad play, I continue doing chores around the house which calms me down. If we win, I rewatch game later, if we lose delete. Not for everyone but works for me and keeps my anxiety levels down.

I'm just thankful for a second game. Life is good. If we get a 3rd game, then life will be great.

I was a High School coach in Texas for 40 years. Once I retired from coaching I don't invest anything but time in ANY athletic contest. Except for my golf game. Life is better that way.
