Why doesn't Buzz get someone to teach these guys 5o shoot FTs? Their form/mechanics are awful.

We know how to shoot them, it's the making them that's seeming to give us some issues. Nice to see 4 making a difference though. He's been the only bright spot at the line tonight (maybe all season)

8 of 19 from the line. Wade makes all of his 4 attempts. There is no way this is something the team puts any focus on during down time. Have never seen it worse

It would be interesting to know what their free throw practice routine is. For many college teams the standard would be 100 shots at the end of each day, with student managers recording the numbers. Unfortunately, this is similar to hitting at the driving range--you get set up and stay there. Doing this, I had several streaks of over 200 in a row when playing.
John Wooden was one of the first coaches to adjust team free throw practice to better simulate game situations. After two shots, he had players sprint to the opposite end to reset and shoot again. Now,they had to reset the feet and shoot while winded/fatigued. Not sure why everyone doesn't do at least some this way..

If they want to go deep into the tournament, they'll have to shoot better than 70% at the charity stripe (while still relying on out-rebounding opponents and causing turnovers).

Bad 3 point shooting
Bad free throw shooting

Maybe 1 or 2 wins in the tournament

I said it in the other thread. FTs by guys not named Wade Taylor? 4-15. 27%.

It seems pretty obvious that we are in our own heads now. And with each miss, we put even more pressure on ourselves.

Maybe winning a game with horrific FT shooting like tonight helps us to relax some. I don't know what else to say to do.

They have to make 100 FTs after practice

Are you saying multiple times you hit over 200 straight in game action? Or just saying standing at the FT line after practice

Buzz needs to make them shoot underhanded like Will Chamberlain. That should embarrass them enough to work on improving their free throw percentage.

We know what it is. In an interview last season Buzz proudly proclaimed our kids shot 200 free throws a
week.

Great free throw shooters shoot that in a day.

Someone needs to find a free throw shooting for dummies book and put it on Buzz's desk. Maybe he's read it and get a ****ing clue.

Or find the YouTube video of the nba's best free throw shooters taking 500 a day and forwarding those with the hope Buzz does some math.

Or I could mention my boss is a big ass donor at a fellow conference school that is above us by about ten points in the FT shooting standings and knows they take 250 FTs pre day per kid. If they don't they don't get their NIL allowance for the week.

I was talking to my brother about this. He said they should practice throwing it hard at the backboard and banking it in.

Team just has the yips right now. Until the last three games we were pretty good at the stripe. Watching Wade sink them will help get them out of their heads. Coleman missed two last night that were clearly pressure misses. Measured and aimed. He wasn't the only one.

What's stopping the players from shooting more on their own time? You think NBA coaches are making players shoot 100s each day or they do it because they want to get better?
