How many games have you watched us play in the last 5 years?! You do know we have NEVER been known as a hot 3 point shooting team. It's almost like a pass to our bigs with how good of an offensive rebounding team we are.

Also, you are aware we beat Texas by 20 while shooting 2 of 19 from 3 right

Didn't seek him out… I replied to his original post and then I came back to ask him about our 3 point shooting and he deleted his stupid post. The negativity needs to stay over on the football board. Don't bring that crap over here. So yes, I'm going to call him out for his stupidity

I mean in general our 3pt shooting is quite bad. Fortunately ZP caught fire and flipped the script. Our team 3 Pt shooting went from like 11% to 39%

We still rank close to 300 out of 355 in 3pt%. Cant even figure out how to get Wilcher a look for two straight games.

True. The point is that our identity is not and really never has been a smooth 3 point shooting team. If we can shoot over 30% from 3, it's just icing on top.

We are not a good shooting team period. What we are is an amazing rebounding team with a well above average ability to play defense. This suits us well against just about every other style of play in the country.

Wound it be nice if I dhoot better from 3? Sure

But it ll take our style of play over having to rely on the 3 ball because shooters can go cold and thus a poor shooting night can cost you a game

Since we don't shoot particularly well in general, poor shooting nights don't really cost us like they do teams that rely on shooting to win games

College football fans have a different mindset.

I love college basketball. I like college football. I find football fans too bipolar.

Years ago, I am watching basketball with my father-in-law (big Ag football guy). We are down by 10 point in the first half with a good 5 minutes left in the half. He says, "Well this game is over…". I was just stupefied. What?!

Love my father-in-law, best God could ever bless me with. Just a different mindset… and yes we came back and yes we won… and was he happy? No, he already written us off as a loss.

I hear it often… "basketball is too fast in the first 38 minutes and too slow in the last 2 minutes."

I love it. The A&M / OU game was pure college basketball perfection.

What happens if A&M becomes a basketball school?

Completely agree. I'm a huge basketball fan - the sport I played growing up. Still love my Aggie football, but basketball is still #1.

That said - this last game against OU as my wife and I were watching and she was getting very depressed with the score, I told her that I would feel very uncomfortable if I was an OU fan with the way the game was unfolding...To be specific, OU looked like they were just absolutely crushing the Ags. But other than the brief point we were down by 18 (I admit I was very concerned then), the Ags were hanging around all game down by 10 points give or take. I kept thinking that the Ags have been through this on the flip side...I've seen it too many times where the better team is struggling but hanging around. When we started making the big comeback with just a couple of minutes left, it just felt right. Glad we could eventually close it out. Fun game.

I agree. I'm having to explain to my son right now that basketball is a game of runs and if the other team goes on a 12-0 run it's not the end of the world… we typically respond in kind at some point in the game. I just get tired of the reactionary BS that comes over from the football board this time of year. Admittedly my posting habits on this board are definitely seasonal, but I try to have a somewhat measured approach. All I want is for people to chill out when it comes to my heir big reactions
