Anytime a team with NBA principles has an extended time to prepare for us he gets killed. Penn State, Memphis and then next week Houston. These are teams that game plan specifically for us. bBuzz is a college coach that runs a system No matter who they play. .

Houston will beat us by 10-15 points next week.,They have a week to prepare and will dial up a game plan for us.

It's all about Taylor. And, a chemistry problem with the major injuries we've had.

The issue is players not showing up. And that is on Buzz. Has zero to with with teams running an NBA system.

I feel like this team lives and dies with how Wade plays and he's had his c- game so far this year

Announcers basically called out that we didn't have a good answer all game.

Buzz has to keep wade a little more in check. 0-9 from 3 today. Why not give Lindsay some minutes?

When Taylor plays with his brain turned on we are hard to beat. When he reverts to playground ball and starts trying to throw passes through defenders, and jacking up wild threes from closer to half court than the 3 point line, we lose every time.

Texas A&M players are giving their best effort. Today's results are 100% on scheme against an NCAAT type team that can shoot.

Memphis offensive scheme. Create space with perimeter passing against a sagging D that doubles the dribble drive, always leaving a man on the baseline or top of the key open for a 3.

David Jones is 5-9 from deep with 27 points.

Quinnerly is also carving us up.

Buzz scheme is to sag and overplay dribble drive and inside. We leave the 3 open We do gets some rebounds, but are giving up 41% this afternoon 3FG. We are trading 2 for 3.

OTOH, on defense Memphis pressures the guards and the ball up high all the time. They are forcing A&M late into the shot clock, and into making mistakes. TOs, poor rebounding position, crazy shots. We have to have people in position to take the pass and make the pressure pay.

Our defensive and offensive schemes against a team with weak guards that can't shoot that well does fine.

However, against better teams (NCAAT) with better passing guards who can shoot it is doomed: Penn State and Memphis are perfect examples.

Memphis played was it 6 games on the road in a row? 100% on our schemes. The math and metrics aren't there.

That was the defensive pressure. We didn't have outlets set.

Every team we face with decent guards is going to follow tonight's template.

And out defensive scheme will always fail with a good shooting team that can hit open 3s.

I'll defend Buzz but today it was obvious that Wade was off AND couldn't handle the double pressure. If Wade was the type that you leave in no matter what then you'd see him tossing to perfectly open looks to shred them. We didn't. You have to change it up then

Memphis pressure high on our guards and the ball. Buzz and Wade did not adjust. Ballgame.

Last years team counted on different players at different times to win games. Boots, Marble, Wade, Dexter, Coleman would all carry the team at times.

We have multiple players this year as well that could do it but it seems the preseason hype for Wade has made him the focus. And he's faltering under the pressure.

Buzz can do more with less, but at some point he needs to get some top recruits. Can't just have a bunch of grinders.

We struggle to adapt for sure, but we're also just not good shooters… which is sorta what the whole sport is built around. If you go 6-33 from behind the arc you're gonna lose a lot of games

"To thine own self be true"

We are not. Way too many 3 balls today. Figured this might happen bc we did shoot well last game.

That's what happens when the opposing team pressures the ball, covers the guards and forces us into a wild 3 late in the shot clock.

We never adjust with outlet passes, dunks inside, or inside out offense to set up good shots.

On defense we left Jones and Quinnerly wide open for 3s.

Wade is good when Boots is 100%, scoring a lot and pulling players off of Wade. Until he's 100% healthy we are this.

Just knew that we would be 3 ball over kill today bc of how well they shot last game.

We count on Wade to be at least a plus, if not a plus plus, player. Today he was a negative and the same could be said for the UVA loss. Not being hot from the field is one thing but losing numerous possessions because of careless ball handling is a killer. He needs to shape up and play his game.

Games like this show you why Buzz is a really good coach, but has a ways to go before he'll be a great coach. It's part of the maturation process and it's an area where Buzz struggles.

I'm not banging the pot and I'm not anti-Buzz in any way, but he struggles mightily when good opponents take us out of our game plan early. It's like he can't adjust or re-scheme on the fly.

He'll get there, but as we stand right now, Buzz still has work to do in the area of quick thinking and spur of the moment adjustments.

I look for more of the same for the rest of the year. Better adjust.

I agree with everything Duke is saying. Perimeter spacing and ball movement was the key today for Memphis. We should have involved Coleman more. He only shot 2 free throws today. Not sure if that was on Coleman, the team or Buzz. While we're at, I still can't figure out Leveque's role. Starter and only plays 8 minutes.

Orrrr he doesn't believe he needs to adjust and/or re-scheme because if players would just execute yadda yadda yadda.
Not pot banging or anti Buzz either and not necessarily disagreeing with you. There just seems to be a familiar refrain in most of our losses that seems to me could be attacked through film work and advanced planning to "turn on" when needed rather than any on the fly acumen.

We are not a jump shooting team. We must drive to the basket to be successful. We shot over 30 threes today. We aren't beating many teams when we failed to make driving yo the basket our primary focus.
