Just wondering what the atmosphere was like. Their student section seemed week mostly.

How many Aggies were there?
Did anyone high five George W Bush?
How much does SMU trash talk?

There's a time I would have high 5'ed George Bush. Time has not been good for him in my conservative opinion.

Wasn't there but did listen to the radio broadcast and heard some SMU fan yelling, "give the ball to whoever #2 is guarding!"

I went. Decent atmosphere. Nice but small are arena. SMU fans got loud a couple times. I'd guess 30% Ags. Students got loud on (perceived) bad calls and air balls. There seemed to be a couple bad calls in our favor.

Getting to the garage was pretty terrible. It turns out a full campus of two lane roads and stop signs is a bad idea for events.

Yeah, Bush is way too moderate for the hardcores around here.

I dig the hell outta that dude and would vote for/high 5 him today.

No, I wasn't at SMU but wish I had been. Our team looks legit.

Honestly loved Moody Coliseum. Had a great time except for the parking situation. Would definitely go again though.

Crazy to think Duke, UNC, and Louisville will be playing there soon

Yeah that's gonna be good for SMU. Getting an invite to the ACC is honestly huge

Atmosphere was good, ton of Ags at the game. Got pretty loud when they cut it to 4, but we quieted it down quick.

Would go to SMU again but definitely ubering to campus next time.

I was impressed with the atmosphere personally. The upper area was majority Aggie, but without yell leaders, the SMU folks were louder more consistently. We were right below the suites on home side and felt nice and close to the court.

And please keep "politics" to F16.

I was there.

The "Battle of the George Bush Library Schools".

Moody Coliseum (capacity = 7,000) is cozy. Reminds me of G. Rollie White with seats rather than benches. Traffic was terrible.

Even though it was an official sell-out, Moody was only 80% full. SMU fans sat in the lower sections and Aggies in the upper sections. 30 - 40% Aggies. Probably < 1,000 students in attendance; they were loud only a couple of times.

George W. Bush sat court side across from the teams. He received a nice standing ovation in the first half. He was wearing a maroon shirt underneath his blazer (read into that what you will…or not).

Sorry for my blurry cell phone pic.

Had a great experience, first time in Moody. One of the cooler small venues I've been to. Like others said, atmosphere was good overall. But their fans and students sat on their hands way more than they should have, a couple of moments they got into it but that was really it. We answered every run so maybe that had something to do with it.

I would have guessed 30% Ags during the game but man once the SMU fans left early I'd say maybe more like 40%. Really impressed with the Aggie turnout.

We parked in the free parking maybe an extra 5 minute walk past the garages and we were on 75 and headed north in like 3 minutes. Definitely worth the extra little walk for future reference.

Good game. If they are ever really good again they could have a great atmosphere, but it was okay tonight. Almost the entire upper bowl around stadium was Aggies. I'd say 60-70% Aggies were there

This is a great analysis. I went too and this is how I feel

Looked about 20% Aggies to me. Crowd was decent. They got loud a few times when SMI tried to make a run. I'm sure they had a better turn out because it was A&M and a ranked team and I doubt they have that good of a turn out for their fans normally.

Upper area was 50% Aggies at worst and has more capacity than the lower section.

Hard to tell on fans. The white out was a definite fail.

I think their arena is a great place to watch college basketball. There isn't a bad seat in the house. The smaller size also makes their crowd sound really loud when they're doing well.

Parking was pretty bad. I'd only been during semester breaks before. I tried to plan the drive to be there 30 minutes early and ended up being 15 minutes late. The last 30 minutes of the drive was sitting in traffic on the campus streets that went to the parking garages. To their credit, they had people directing traffic, but if I ever have a chance to go back, I'm looking into how to park somewhere else or getting there very early.

I also thought the crowd could have leaned toward being 50% Aggies in the upper sections, which make up the majority of the seats...but our section was mostly A&M fans.

Zero among the crowd around us. I think the students tried to give our bench a hard time. A few of the students didn't like the final score and decided they'd skip the 2 finger gesture for the pony ears and just make a one finger gesture at our team instead.

Didn't really think about it much during the game, but it's pretty special for the players to play in front of a former American president sitting on first row. That's a cool experience for them.

Went to the game. It was a blast. The last two seasons remind me of the Caruso years. Just a fun team to root for! Good Aggie showing!

Gig em George W Bush!

We went to the game, and it was a fun atmosphere. It seemed like there were a lot of Aggies, but hard to say exactly how many since they have the MSG/Staples Center effect with very bright court lights and dark stands. The announced attendance was 6,852 which is way more than their first 3 games (4,151, 4,003, 4,057).

We were in 213 behind the Aggie bench. SMU students talked a lot of trash to the team, and some of the guys like Solomon Washington talked back a lot. They were talking trash to Wade Taylor late in the game and he pointed at the scoreboard.

The balancing act guy fist-bumped W during the halftime show.

I'd say the crowd was roughly 40% Aggie. I have attended several basketball and football games at SMU over the years and have never had trouble parking at a big parking garage southeast of Moody Coliseum until tonight. SMU closed that Garage about 20 minutes before the game even though it still had parking available. I'm cynical enough to believe SMU did it intentionally to delay Aggies arriving to the game.

I'd agree the crowd was 40%+ Ags. Love games at Moody, but can't remember if they tore it down and built this, or just did a major renovation.

I Uber'd to Snyder Plaza to grab food and drinks before the game with a buddy, and rode home with some friends at the game. We were only on the 2nd level of the parking garage but stuck for 30-45 mintes.

No trash talking from SMU fans at all. Their crowd got loud a few times, mostly when they disagreed with a call.

Last game I saw at Moody, George and Laura were courtside.

Took this last night.

I really liked their gym. Good set-up and the moderate size really works well. We had a really good experience. Definitely would go to another game there if e have a chance.

I was sitting in the upper level so could see the overall crowd well. Overall was probably 90% full, so basically a full house. that said, in the upper ring it was overwhelmingly Aggies. So I'm sure the total crowd was at least 50/50 in our favor.

I echo comments from other poster. If you ever go to a game there take the 5-10 minute walk. Parking was free and super easy in and out.

Would love more of these home and homes if possible.

I didn't have the garage issue - parked in Moody garage. It was maybe 10 mins from garage to 75, but I parked on the exit side of the garage.

We went. I like Moody, but like everyone said, the traffic in was very slow. Been there many times to watch Southlake football and we always park illegally in an administration lot. Never get a ticket.

Actually a pretty charged atmosphere - maybe cause of the Bush hoopla.

SMU fans were pretty tame.

With Marble back, Ags will be a top ten team.

Agree with this. Sat in 205 (corner) and we had a great view. Upper tank was dominated by Ags, and lower by SMU but upper was 2/3 of the seats, so 50/50 feels right.

Next time do what we did and park at Mockingbird station, grab dinner and drinks before the game, and walk 10 min to Moody. Basically exchange parking money for dinner and then i was on the highway in 1 min after got back to the car post-game

Really enjoyed the game! We parked in the free lot at Airline and University, sped walked back to the car, and was already out of there within minutes. I am definitely looking forward to ACC bball there as my husband is a Duke guy.

W got a standing ovation when he was announced, and the halftime balancing act guy gave him a high five in the middle of his set.

Echo the others that upper deck seemed like it was full of Aggies. I was in 214 and it was maybe 3/4 maroon.

Was hoping Wade would ball out in front of his hometown but it's all good, hopefully just this was a doozy.

Overall had fun.
