It's been a long process. Offered in 2020 by Ags and signed with USF in October 2022. Left when Brian Gregory was fired and Amir Abdur-Rahim became coach. Heres Gregory on Ringgold:

If true - a 2023 addition from Baton Rouge - offered by Clemson, Houston and Ole Miss among others. I didn't see USF listed on his offer list.

Would be nice addition to the 2 other HS recruits for incoming class of 2023. Tyler is listed at 6'7" in high school - so could grow another inch or two before all is said and done. Looks pretty skinny in the picture - so a couple of years in the weight room might help as well - though the description from the USF coach makes him sound taller and bigger.

I'm still excited about how the following year's class of 2024 is shaping up if we can hold on to those 3 guys - with maybe another 1 or 2 more to add - depending on how many experienced players we try to grab through the portal that year to fill the experience deficit when Boots, Marble, Gordon and others complete their Aggie Basketball careers.

We do need some young players as most of our team will be upper classmen next year. I sure hope we aren't done in the portal though.

Yeah I think that 195 is an old number. I've seen highlights where he looks considerably bulkier than 195 and the USF coach says he's 220, which may be a little "puffery" but is probably closer to reality than 195.

I bet he's a guy who ends up playing at 225 or so which will give him some defensive versatility to go with his offensive versatility.

Intrigued to learn more about him. Seems like he could be a nice pickup.

I believe we got a commitment about a month ago from a big named Brandon White and Hop was going to follow up, but I don't recall a confirmation or update after that (perhaps I missed it?). Perhaps, this one is different but I'm looking for some kind of official update or recognition of it. Especially as this is a name we have never heard before.

We had two of these last year and both ended up being walkons. I think it will likely be sorted out once we are finished in the portal. If we have spots then one or both of these could end up with a scholarship, but if not they walkon. Just a guess by me.

For U of H to have offered him and he's from South Carolina he must be pretty good!

I am liking how we are closing out 2023 on both the recruiting trail and portal success and really excited about 2024 from a high school recruiting perspective!
