You always see it with anyone who had anything to do with the whole season.
He should imo. Built the team and cleared of all charges. Granted I hope to God this doesn't have to come up.StacksOnSully said:

SAME HERE. i think they pulled the trigger early firing him anyway unless there was something in his contract or other issues.johnnyblaze36 said:He should imo. Built the team and cleared of all charges. Granted I hope to God this doesn't have to come up.StacksOnSully said:

Successfully suing a public university in the state requires legislative permission. Sovereign immunity protects Texas from potential Chris Beard lawsuit.Quote:

There was no likely did it. He did it! It's two crazy people in an abusive relationship where both are abusive and it won't be the last time this happens. I am sure they just both agreed to keep things under wraps next time it happens as to make sure they don't financially hurt themselves going forward.Nattie said:
We live in cancel culture now. I am sure there was enormous pressure to fire him for something he "likely" did do.
The fiance's walk back of the strangulation was suspect imo.
No chance in hell he wins that. No chance!!The Porkchop Express said:

Coach arrested on charge of choking fiancee.
School fires coach.
Accuser completely changes story and says he never choked her and he was acting in self defense.
DA says charges dropped.

His battered partner changed her story (like they often do) and declined to cooperate as a witness so the DA had no choice but to drop the charges. He wasn't cleared of anything.Quote:

Amusingly the fiance released a statement that was supposed to save him, and presumably was crafted by their counsel:

Since Beard's contract had a morality clause (as they all do) that's a pretty damning admission regarding the negative attention they were culpable for.Quote:

I imagine he'll have counsel make private demand on the university for part of his contract, and both parties will settle for far less than what was owed with a confidentiality clause. It's not in Beard, UT, or Beard's new school's interest to put it back in the spotlight.
I'm not some huge Chris Beard fan but your statement is simply factually incorrect:agent-maroon said:His battered partner changed her story (like they often do) and declined to cooperate as a witness so the DA had no choice but to drop the charges. He wasn't cleared of anything.Quote:

Quote:
The domestic violence charge against former Texas basketball coach Chris Beard was dismissed Wednesday by the Travis County District Attorney's Office roughly two months after Beard was initially arrested and faced with third-degree felony assault.
"After a careful and thorough review of the evidence, recent public statements, and considering Ms. Trew's wishes, our office has determined that the felony offense cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt," the Travis County District Attorney's Office said in a statement.

Are you saying that if a player is kicked off the team in December and that team goes on to win it all, they give that player a ring?
I could be wrong, but I don't think that's how it works
This is probably correct and perhaps I should revise my original stance.Tobias Funke said:

Didn't Turgeon take us to the dance three straight years after Billy Clyde?TMF said:
I have much respect for Texas for doing it. If they weren't Texas this board would likely be rooting for them. At some point we need to quit worrying about other s hooks and just worry about us not sucking ass in every sport. When is the last time any coach has built upon 1 season of success?
Billy Clyde is last one I can remember. The rest flop at any sign of success.

And I don't know if you're just talking about basketball but Pat Henry has a pretty solid track record of success. And Schloss got us to the CWS in year 1 and has us ranked again.
Coach G consistently has women's soccer as a quality team.
Tennis is usually pretty strong as well along with golf.
And don't you dare forget about equestrian!!
