Yes. It's well documented that Texas A&M athletics is a total joke. It's why no one nationally ever takes us seriously. We have the worst ROI in the country.

I know yall like to pretend it is, but does baseball really count as a "major sport?"

It can be profitable, so I'd argue yes

For like 4 teams.

Probably about the same number of teams for which womens basketball can be profitable, but Im guessing that wont get thrown out in this list for a couple obvious reasons

Didn't we win the SEC in baseball not too long ago?

These are national titles.

Ok, that wasn't said anywhere in the OP, but I would argue that a conference championship is at least something. Carry on.

Womens basketball is a bigger sport than college baseball.
The sport has higher television ratings and higher attendance at games.

Womens basketball gets covered on ESPN. College baseball does not
The 2011 National Title that was won by Gary Blair's girls most certainly counts as a Major National Title.

No one really cares about a football title won in 1939. Modern College football starts with integration in the 1970's.
Anything before that is not really respected anymore.

The 2011 National Title is the biggest A&M accomplishment in terms of Major Sports. Blair should be recognized on this thread for his class and greatness.

We're on the right track. Back to back years going to SEC championship game in basketball. Baseball went to CWS last year, i dont remember SEC championship. I think both programs are on the cusp of greatness here, with consistent appearances.

Football has a lot of work.

I think it's just hard when we know there's cheating and under table deals going on for recruits. tu and Bama are kings in this arena. NIL deals might further level the playing field in our favor.

Brittney Griner (Baylor) and Sheryl Swoopes(Texas Tech) are more well known than any college baseball player of the past 20 years.

Geno Aureniemmena and Kim Mulkey are more well known than any current college baseball coach.
Can anyone name the stars from Rice's 2002 National Championship Baseball team?
Neither can I.

All I remember is that I was shocked that I witnessed Rice win a National Title in something other than academics.

Womens basketball is a bigger college sport than college baseball.

Aaron Judge, Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, Alex Bregman and Bryce Harper are all pretty well known former college players.

But internationally I'd probably agree with you. Just not among most SEC fanbases.

I'm not joking.
I have no clue where any of those guys played college baseball.

Why?

Because college baseball is not covered that much by the Local or National Media.

i think what's equally as crazy as this list is the fact that we haven't played for the championship either to my knowledge. so it's not like w have lost in the championship game multiple times. we haven't really been very close.

my only explanation is 100yr deal with the devil. someone made it in 1939.

In FB, up until the early 70's, tu took every decent or better player that would sign. Once scholly limits were introduced,
we are close to even with them. They do have 1 championship in 53 years and played for 1 other.

In basketball, I loved Shelby, but we were never that great, and didn't put emphasis on it until we had some success with BCG.

In baseball, we are usually good but not great.

I'm sorry but Kyler Murray is much more famous and well known than any of the people you listed associated with WCBB. Attempting to say women's college basketball is higher than men's college baseball is next level delusion.

How major (to us) are Track & Field, Golf, and Equestrian? WBB has already been covered.
