It's obvious that this committee has it out for A&M and a few other teams. It's extremely bias and quite frankly is an absolutely joke. And I do agree with Buzz that the committee needs to reveal how they rank teams. The system is very flawed and it needs a massive overhaul. We should have been a 5 seed at the very least and for some reason we got hosed 2 years in a row.

You are right, I don't think the committee has it out specifically for A&M. I don't think they are any-A&M. They are anti-Buzz for his comments last year questioning their qualifications. He just happens to bet he coach at A&M.

They ignored the conference tournaments last year as if they didn't matter at all then refused to clarify or be transparent about why certain teams got in and some didn't.

All Buzz wanted last year was transparency and they balked.

Last year the committee appeared incompetent or corrupt. This year, however, they removed any doubt that they are nothing but corrupt.

As I posted on another thread - NCAA basketball politics is worse than football which is really saying something. The leadership is sleezy and it's very gross to basketball outsiders.

You don't grow the sport by having these sleezebags on the committee and no media to attack them when they behave unethically.

Let's face it… the A&M network doesn't have any "behind close doors" influence in college athletics, and you know who spends a lot of time and money behind the scenes to make sure it stays that way.

Agree with this post 100%. Last year was devastating to get left out to the dance. This year is pretty infuriating to be shafted on our seed.

Dude, Houston sat Sasser against Memphis who averaged 17 pts per game so he could heal up for the tournament. Sasser is one of the best players in the country. Houston will be much better in the tournament with him on the court.

I don't understand that statement at all. Are we probable to beat tu if we play them… perhaps not but there's certainly a chance we will. They are really good and no doubt they have more talent than we have but the A & M TEAM is greater than the sum of the parts.

It's a non-transparent process that regularly has affected Texas A&M. Last year it was arguing about essentially last four in. This year it's two seed lines so up to eight slots instead of merely four. Plus continually being paired to play Texas is TIRESOME AND IDIOTIC especially since we will be in the same conference.

If it's not malice it could absolutely be incompetence where the committee is a bunch of lazy turds who start making the bracket in the middle of February and ignore all of March unless someone unexpected wins their conference tournament and they're forced to change it. Corruption is also likely where they bend to media pressure to get juicy matchups in the early rounds of the tournament to get more viewers like A&M vs sip

That's why it's so disgustingly obvious that the committee was basically corrupt, or corrupted into putting us into a situation like that. Realistically, it's not really right to make the sips play a team in the second round that is two spots below where they should be just for this obvious matchup.

You won't get to the finals without beating some really good teams. In the scheme of things, you are really just talking about your first game match up because after the first round, you are almost guaranteed to have an even odds matchup against a very good team. If you can't win that first game, your complaint about seedings is going to be moot.

According to BracketMatrix, Texas A&M is the most under-seeded team in the NCAA tournament. Their actual seed is 1.59 seeds lower than their average of 136 bracket projections.

98.5% of brackets had A&M at 6 or higher. 51.5% had A&M at 5 or higher. 9.5% had A&M at 4 or higher.

This makes a lot of sense and is probably what happened.

It is totally unprofessional to allow William's comments to affect A&M's seed. If people cannot put their biases aside when making decisions such as seeding teams in the NCAA tournament then they have zero business on a committee.

If a committee allows institutional group think to outweigh unbiased facts based metrics on rating teams then that committee needs to be disbanded and a neutral selection process implemented.

If people cannot accept criticism professionally then they need to evaluate themselves not retaliate against the people making the criticism.

The decisions of the committee over the past year serve to erode confidence in their ability to make unbiased decisions. That undermines their credibility and serves to create more questions. At some point other institutions should begin to worry that this could happen to them too.
