- Lots of players are tweeners, so don't get up in arms if they aren't listed at the correct position. I tried to put them where they would most likely see the most time on the court.
- There's a lot of recruits out there, so I tried to list the most likely ones on our radar after sifting through Texags, ESPN, 247, verbalcommit.com, and twitter content.
- I didn't even bother trying to add 2022 or 2023 recruits. So much will change between now and then, and so many guys aren't even on the radar yet.
- I only included guys currently on the roster and signed recruits or committed recruits on the class breakdowns. There's no point in playing the guessing game. The goal was to provide a one stop shop with the majority of data points for people to make their own conclusions.
- As far as the "needs" column goes, that simply a formula I put in based on nothing scientific. It assumes a balanced roster has 3 PG, 3 SG, 3 SF, 2 PF, and 2 C.
Key takeaways?
The newest transfer that we offered, Courvoisier McCauley, who is a junior to be, seems like the smartest to add to this class as it gives us a body to put in the desert that is the "juniors-to-be". And he's pretty freaking talented and adds shooting that we just don't have proven on the roster.
I think we can get by next season without using a scholly on a big in 2020. But Buzz keeps finding targets that he likes, so who knows. Eduardo Andre sounds like he could be a high ceiling guy. It does seem like Linguard is not being pursued anymore. But not sure.
Looking toward 2021 recruiting, we have two elite level talents committed. I don't really follow HS hoops, nor am I a draft expert, but I keep seeing Manny Obaseki listed as a potential draftable guy following his freshman season.
In my opinion, I think our recruiting priorities in 21 should be to add a talented big man.. I'm thinking Ernest Ross and Daimion Collins should get the full court press. After that, I think we need another SF type. We seem to be really working Harrison Ingram hard, but I just cant see that not being a long shot. Alex Fudge seems to be another priority there. If we have room after addressing those needs, I think a PG is where we go.
Looking at 22 recruiting, if we use all ships this year and next and none go to upperclassmen transfers, we have no ships to give without someone leaving. I won't speculate on any names that might leave in the next two years.. there's no point. But if we increase the talent like it looks like we will, I dont think theres a chance we enter the 21-22 season without losing a couple to transfer. That would open up spots, as would someone going pro.
Let me know if anything doesn't look right.
