With the signing of Antwann Jones, here is the list of top 100 recruits A&M has signed in recent years.

2018- Jones
2017- Flagg
2016- Caldwell and Williams
2015- DJ, Tyler, Elijah Thomas, Admon
2014- Robinson
2013- None
2012- Caruso and Reese
2011- Branch
2010- Tobi (RIP)
2009- Naji
2008- Dash and Loubeau
2007- Deandre
2006- Davis and Sloan
2005- None
2004- Joe

Plus House and Duane Wilson were top 100 recruits that transferred in.

Obviously we have improved both the number of guys signed and improved retention in the last three years. So total top 100 recruits on roster by year:
2018- 7
2017- 4 (not counting Caldwell since he wasn't eligible)
2016- 5 (not counting Elijah since he transferred out so early).
2015- 3
2014- 1
2013- 1
Then not more than two until you go back to 2010, which had five I think.

Don't have much to add yet but thanks for posting. Good info. I will say that a lot of times kids will
Be a little overrated depending on what squad they're on and how much AAU /summer exposure they get: why Carter and Middleton were 3 stars with obvious four star potential.

Yep. Similarly, if I had to venture a prediction, Starks will end up being one of the top 100 college players of the 2017 class.

Good list. When you have 7 Top 100 players, and I'll add Starks as well, because he plays like a top 100 player - and 6 are not true Frosh...the team is going to be pretty darn good. Jimmies and Joes.

Davis
Gilder
Hogg
RW
Caldwell
Wilson
Flagg

(Starks)

...and what we saw from Admon, Tyler, and DJ was SEASONED LEADERSHIP against West Virginia. The defensive effort and gameplan were there. We have enough high level athleticism and are scoring off the semi-break - so any hiccups of BK's offensive coaching or time management at the end of the half or rotations matter less and less.

I gotta be honest - I've been shocked at how athletic Wilson is. I knew about Flagg, Starks, and Chandler...and as these kids get more experience, they're going to make fewer and fewer mistakes. All the suspensions gave us an early look at this group against Tarleton State and WVU - they've got real potential.

Before the Season I thought we were a 4 seed. Yeah, it's early...but am going to gulp the maroon koolaid and upgrade to a 3 seed, and second in the SEC, beating KY one one of two meetings. It will be IMO a dog fight between Kentucky, Florida, and A&M for the top of the SEC heap.

Caldwell is going to contribute, and can stay fresh with Starks and Wilson subbing in early and often.

As of others mentioned, TJ Starks IMO was another guy underrated by the recruiting services like Carter and Middleton. I agree that it was probably because he didn't participate in some particular AAU games or summer camps.

For this current roster, also of course turned out Robert Williams as a Top-60 rated national recruit was not only like a top-10 quality recruit, but miraculously came back for a second season.

Is Wright the most highly ranked recruit A&M has ever signed?

Yes, although McDonald's didn't pick him for some reason. Some with D. Jordan.
